In somewhat of an odd turn, Dead Noon director Andrew Wiest has decided to turn away from Grindhouse films about gun slingers and bring us a post-apocalyptic Christian parable in the form of a low budget family outing called The Wylds. Now, I'm like the farthest thing from a religious scholar type so I'll let those of you who are decide how faithful the film looks next to John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" (which I imagine is not a lot). For everyone else, there's sword fighting, cowboys, and evil mustache twirling types wearing steam-punk goggles in the film's teaser so I thought I'd post it up for a larf.
Someplace, somewhere, in the future mankind fell. A Great War turned Earth into a wilderness and a wasteland. Cars, electricity, computers, all modern technology is long gone and forgotten about. There are pockets of civilization living in decaying and ramshackle cities,...

Last month Fango told you about the upcoming Lionsgate releases of Dead Noon and Are You Scared? 2. Today we've got the "Red Band" trailers for both, along with final details on both films.
Dead Noon, is a horror/Western riding in Feb. 3 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Directed by Andrew Wiest from a script he wrote with Keith Suta and Matthew Taggart, the movie co-stars Kane Hodder and involves an Old West outlaw who terrorizes a modern town with his living-dead posse. The disc’s widescreen transfer with 2.0 stereo sound will be supplemented with:
• Making-of featurette • Deleted scenes • Cast and crew shower scene (?!) • Trailers
Are You Scared? 2 arriving Feb. 10, has nothing to do with the original Scared?; it’s a retitle of an unrelated flick originally called Geohunt, directed by John Land and focusing on a group of young people on a Gps-assisted treasure hunt preyed on by a sadistic killer...

• Fango got word that Anchor Bay will release Julian Doyle’s Chemical Wedding, under the new title of Crowley, in late first quarter 2009. Doyle also scripted the movie with Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson.
The movie stars Simon Callow as a Cambridge University professor who becomes possessed by the spirit of notorious occultist Aleister Crowley. Kal Weber, Lucy Cudden, Jud Charlton, Paul McDowell and John (Mirrors) Shrapnel co-star. Disc details haven’t been solidified, but we’re told there will be an audio commentary and behind-the-scenes footage. The Bay also alerted Fango that it’ll put the 20th Anniversary Edition of Hellraiser out on Blu-ray in April, with all the extras from the DVD. And the company’s cover art for Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s Walled In, starring Mischa Barton and set to hit disc March 17, has surfaced; we’ll have the specs on that one soon.

You can always depend on Lionsgate to roll out some low budget horror movies to DVD, and this coming February won't be any different. Already announced for the shortest month of the year are a supernatural Western shooting for a Grindhouse feel and a direct-to-dvd sequel nobody except for the management at Lionsgate asked for: Dead Noon and Are You Scared 2.
It'll be Dead Noon on DVD February 3rd when Lionsgate releases the action-packed horror Western that bills itself as "Sam Raimi meets Sam Peckinpah".
In this shoot 'em up western horror tale, ancient demons, walking skeletons and cowboy zombies join forces to take the law down in a blaze of hellfire and brimstone. With the powers of hell at his disposal, Frank, a blood-thirsty outlaw from the old west, is resurrected to seek his revenge on the present day town of Weston. As the past collides with the present,...
