Exclusive: The CAA agent who brokered the sale of Dreaming Whilst Black to A24 is to head up Emily in Paris producer Jax Media’s UK division.
Katie Gahamire joins the LA outfit’s London hub as Creative Director, replacing Molly Seymour, who recently moved to BBC Studios. Jax has also signed former Disney Star exec Hussain Casey-Ahmed as Production Executive.
The hires will help Imagine Entertainment-owned Jax expand its UK originals, alongside producing U.S. projects from the UK. Since launch, Jax UK commissions have included Channel 4’s Simon Bird-starrer Everyone Else Burns, which was picked up by The CW and has been recommissioned for a second season, and BBC Three short form show Peck Eds. The hub also made Clem Garritty’s Showtime pilot Jonah Kills.

Pulsar Content has secured worldwide sales on Michele Placido’s “Eternal Visionary,” a film about the life of Luigi Pirandello, the Italian playwright, novelist and poet who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1934.
Pirandello is played by Fabrizio Bentivoglio, one of Italy’s best known actors whose credits include “Loro,” “The Invisible Boy” and “Human Capital.” Bentivoglio stars opposite filmmaker and actor Valeria Bruni Tedeschi who stars as Pirandello’s wife. Federica Luna Vincenti completes the cast.
The movie opens in 1934 as Pirandello is traveling to Stockholm, where he is about to receive the Nobel Prize. He starts reliving the drama and magic of the loved ones who have populated his life and inspired his art. He reminisces about the madness of his wife, his stormy relationship with his children, his controversial stance towards fascism and his love for Marta Abba, the young actress who became his muse.

International sales agency The Open Reel has taken world rights to “We Will Never Die” by Eduardo Crespo (“As Close as Possible”), and will represent it at the upcoming San Sebastian film festival where it is up for the Golden Seashell award.
The film follows Rodrigo and his mother who travel to the town where his elder brother has just died. While Rodrigo will gradually come to grips with the adults’ pain and will start to leave his childhood behind, his mother tries to uncover the mysteries of her son’s death.
The cast includes Romina Escobar (“Brief Story from the Green Planet”), Rodrigo Santana and Brian Alba. The film is produced by Santiago Loza and Rita Cine, with the support of Argentina’s National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts.
