A speedy, exciting picture of a district where oil well claims are being discovered. It is a well-planned romance. The hero's father objects to the heroine. This man discovers an oil claim and comes very near losing it, it being saved only by the ready wit and horsewomanship of the pretty heroine. She has a very tense race with the greedy villain. The country is interesting and the excellent photographs show much of it. The acting is good, though there is some camera consciousness shown in posing the scenes, a tendency to make the players walk up to the camera. The players are pleasing and it will probably be a popular picture. - The Moving Picture World, October 7, 1911
