A foxy terminator and the worlds savior growing to be a man, what more could you want?
I recently bought the boxed set of TSCC DVDs, and have enjoyed it immensely. I think the characterization is perfect, especially with the splendid cast assembled. Summer, our new terminator, and Derek Kyle, sent by John Connor to protect young John and his mother from the attacks in the past, both by violence and leukemia, are shining stars. But, it is Summer Glau as Cameron in the strangest and most fascinating character I have seen in many years, and certainly not one on television, that catches my attention. I give TSCC a hearty 10 for 10 as a television, an I will be honest and tell you that I hate television. I do make exceptions, such as the first three years of Saturday Night Live, but very little make it through my BS filter. This is one program that has done so, and I hope will continue to do so in the second season.
BTW, for those arming our patriot band, a Barrett Lite .50 semi-automatic rifle chambered for the M2 .50 caliber will fire armor piercing rounds from it's semi-automatic action and 10 shot magazine that should put a terminator down, especially with hits to the knee, hip, and spine below the skull. Hits to the skull might be problematic, but that is why the resistance should seek out WWII stockpiles of 20mm automatic cannons. Set up traps for individual terminators in deserted parts of town where the shooting will not accidentally kill bystanders (who are, if we don't win, dead already) and draw one more terminators into a "firesack", where the rebels appear to retreating, until the terminators are well and truly surrounded with real Yankee firepower. And, why are our hero's fighting the T-888s with shotguns, when raiding US stockpiles will give them shoulder fired missiles that will stop any piece of armor on the grid? I used the M-72 LAWS (Light Anti Tank Weapons System) 60mm against bunkers in Vietnam, it did a real job on land, despite that it was designed to stop a Soviet T-72 tanks. I'd like to see a Terminator just try and walk on past a direct hit from a T-72, or better yet, a FGM-148 Javelin shoulder fired missile.
