Everything Must Go (#3.19)

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode we finally return back to the woman who is trying to ruin things for Barney and find out that it was Abby. It is great to see them together being mad at Ted while still missing him. The time when they lie in bed telling each other how lame Ted is, is pretty awesome. Britney Spears is once again perfect in her part. I also loved them talking to Ted as a lame couple and that proposal barney made with her great reaction to it.

The story about Lily's paintings was also great. I was feeling bad for her but they really managed to make it funny and it had such an unexpected happy end. I would love it if doggies loved my paintings and it would make them feel better at the vet!

Britney Spears Returns
slightlymad2217 December 2014
Britney Spears is back as Abbie, Stellas receptionist who has a crush on Ted.

Plot In A Paragraph: Since Marshall and Lilly cannot afford the cost to level the floors of their new place, Marshall proposes its time to start selling some of Lilly's designer clothes. Lilly instead wants to make the money selling her paintings. Ted tries to prove he can pull off a pair of red cowboy boots. Meanwhile Barney finally meets the girl that has been ruining his chance with women, and it's Abbie (Britney Spears) and sets about using her to show Ted how lame he is.

Barney and Abbie did make an amusing double act, and despite how good she was in the previous episode, its surprising to see her back.

The calm before the storm

Warning: Spoilers
This episode's main purpose is tying up loose ends before the season finale. Therefore, we revisit the mystery girl from "The Bracket", while Marshall and Lily need to make some money to fix the floor in their new apartment (see "No Tomorrow").

Continuity done wrong: They re-shot the scene where Lily meets the mystery girl, because now she has to have a different hair style. As it turns out (Spoilers!), the mystery girl is Abbey, Stella's receptionist. Why not just pretend she happened to have curly hair when she met Lily? The hair color was already about right in the first place.

Continuity done right: In S06E21, we learn about the day Ted bought his red cowboy boots. In the corresponding flashback, not only the boots make a return, but also the equally flamboyant shirt that Lawrence - the man of impeccable taste - wears when he approves of the boots.

Lingering questions: Why doesn't Lily just quit her job in kindergarten to focus on her painting, if she can sell her art to veterinarians for good money? And does she make enough money now to finally pay back her credit card debt?

I'm not too thrilled about seeing Britney Spears as Abbey again. And the fact that Barney is hardly interacting with the group doesn't help the episode at all. All in all, it's one of the weakest episodes in season 3. But with the season finale just around the corner, maybe that's just the calm before the storm...
