This story has no cutting edge, for one is not compelled to believe in its situation nor development. It is not a pleasant tale; there is no true reformation in it and, out of all the two reels, there is only one short incident, the predicament of the old doctor, that justifies any film at all. We dare not commend it as a strong offering. - The Moving Picture World, March 28, 1914
