- Liz tries to make a stand and refuses to take a flu shot in a show of solidarity with her coworkers--until she discovers that her island vacation is not canceled. Meanwhile, Jack and Elisa break some rules to begin dating.
- Open with Liz arriving at work, just a few days away from her big vacation to a private beach. After running into Kenneth (who appears to be getting sick), Liz is told by Cerie that the hotel was overbooked and the vacation is cancelled.
It's Elisa's day off from watching Jack's mother and he wants them to go on a real date. The problem is that she has a second job caring for an older man with dementia.
Kenneth (who is getting sicker) tells Liz that she's needed in Jack's office, as Liz tries to bond with some of the crew guys who do not get the same vacation as the talent. After getting his flu shot from Dr. Spaceman (Chris Parnell), Jack asks Liz who she thinks is "important enough" to get one of the remaining shots. Indignant over the disparity of health care Liz refuses to get her shot.
Jack shows up at Elisa's second job watching the senile Mr. Templeton with a board game. Elisa tells him that in 15 years in the New York City she has never seen a Broadway play or been a restaurant that didn't have a television.
Liz suggest to Tracy and Jenna (who have gotten their flu shots) that they think about doing something nice for the crew.
The crew overhears Liz loudly refuse a flu shot from Jack and begins to get behind her.
Kenneth suggests to Tracy and Jenna that they think about getting soup for the increasingly sick crew. They seem to like the idea.
Jack convinces Elis to go out with him that night. With wheelchair-bound Mr. Templeton along for the ride they paint the town: going to dinner and seeing "The Lion King."
The crew gets Liz a meat tray to thank her for her support. Cerie tells Liz that the flu has caused a bunch of cancellations and her vacation is back on. Realizing that everyone is sick (and seeing them as zombies), Liz begins to freak out. She runs to Spaceman and gets her shot.
Tracy and Jenna completely forget the soup they went out for, instead going shopping.
Liz lies to the crew, telling them she's starting to get flu-like symptoms. The crew begins to question why they hated her so much in the first place. Jack tells Liz about his date with Elisa and mentions that a rash with develop at the site of the flu shot injection.
A feverish Kenneth notices Liz's rash. She convinces him it's only a dream and grabs a long-sleeve shirt from wardrobe.
Just after Jack shows up at Elisa's job, Mr. Templeton's son shows up unexpectedly from London. Jack hides behind a curtain while the man checks on his father. Mr. Templeton begins wildly talking about a "man who comes at night" and describes Elisa and Jack's date. Elisas explains it away as part of his condition.
Tracy and Jenna think they should give the crew the gift of laughter.
Elisa takes Mr. Templeton's son to another room. On his way out of the apartment Jack explains to the temporarily lucid old man that they abducted him so he could make time for Elisa and aks he not mention it to his son. Mr. Templeton seems cool with the explanation, asking only that next time he be taken to Washington Square Park and "a negro bar."
Dressed as clowns, Tracy and Jenna begin to put on a lame comedy routine. The clowns hit Liz with pies, a move which angers the crew. Liz takes off her whipped cream-covered sweatshirt and everybody sees her flu shot rash. She explains the vacation excuse (including a Filipino love interest), which falls on deaf ears.
Liz tells Jack she feels too embarrassed to go on her vacation. Jack talks her into it, just as both begin to experience flu-like stomach gurgles from the shot itself.
