Was it murder or suicide? That's what the team must find out when the corpse of an avant garde artist is found inside a crushed car. Because the crushed car may represent a suicidal form of art and therefore worth a lot of money, the court orders the team to keep their hands off the thing. Which means they cannot extricate the body. So examining it gets very tricky. Booth and Brennan have a look at some of the dead guy's art, created with found objects. Booth of course is clueless. Brennan, God bless her and her closeted upbringing, proves less so. Guys will enjoy this episode for another reason. It involves two women and their lips.

Art like bones is in the eye of the beholder.

Warning: Spoilers
Hi Bones Booth Podcast.

English Jan here!

I've a question for you. Is Daisy the most annoying of the rotating interns? She is obviously written that way.

What a grizzly body discovery! That aside, I do worry at Bones's level of excitement when Booth points out that there may be more bodies to be discovered inside the gallery. ( She's like a kid on Christmas morning.) What is it with people on TV? They never seem to reach for a light switch when entering a darkened room. No, let's reach for our trusty little torch instead.

I love Hodgin's pure glee over the possible use of the jaws of life- Mechanical spreaders. I also like Cam's sexual frustration comment.

I don't know if you spotted a nod to David's previous role in this episode? It comes in the metalworking artists' studio. David is seen with metal wings- a nod to his Angel role, perhaps.

I hate Booth's reaction to Angela's relationship with Roxy; there appears to be no real reason for it. To add insult to injury, he doesn't really seem to apologise for it either, unless you count that half attempt in the car.

My heart goes out to Dr Sweets, who is accosted twice by Angela and Cam, asking him for advice without an appointment, and expecting instant answers; this is not always the case in therapy.

But I make love that Cam turns the tables at the end. Great writing.

Ah, poor Daisy- what an exciting way to get fired. Bravo Sweets. Nice to see baby Sweets has grown up.

Oohh yeah Angela 6 weeks is such a huuuge dry spell. Oh Daisy you try so hard but suck at social interactions. I know art is subjective but I draw the line at pigs blood ugh. Yyayy the lovely Caroline Julian is back! Also the return of the Angelator in this ep. I guess it was Angela's turn to be involved with a possible suspect lol. Yes Sweets the constant drop ins with no appts would be annoying. Poor Daisy fired again but awwww love her and Sweets together.

Angela and Roxie!!!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Hey Bones Booth Pod!

If you can't already tell by the numerous exclamation marks in the title, I'm very excited about this one.

Daisy's back this episode which is lovely. She's a lot less annoying this time, in my opinion, and is a bit more endearing. However, that sister comment to Cam was definitely a bit odd. Of course, the episode ends with her getting fired, again, but the upside of that is we get to see that her and Sweets indeed did get together after he called her at the end of 4x03.

Obviously, it is always great to have Caroline in an episode. Doesn't matter how short her screen time is, she never fails to make an impact and I love her immensely.

Okay, now we get to the main event. ANGELA AND ROXIE!!

I well and truly love that not only did we get concrete, explicit confirmation that Angela is sapphic but we actually get to see her in a relationship with another woman*. I'm a big fan of the little tid-bits we see of them together and it's great that after a massive (/s) SIX WEEKS, Angela is putting her pain aside and moving on.

I really liked Angela's conversation with Booth in the car, definitely redeeming him a bit after the disaster that was the last episode, and him smacking that DeLuca guy's head into a table after he made that disgusting threesome comment was perfect.

The Sweets and Angela scenes were very lovely, despite the fact that Angela usually ends up giving herself advice and ignoring whatever he has to say.

And I can't not mention that little conversation between B&B at the end of the episode where they discussed how Swaisy (or Dance as some people refer to them) would never work and were basically describing themselves. Love love loved it.

----- SPOILERS FOR AFTER SEASON 4 -----

*I know the writers completely forget about this aspect of Angela's character after this season ends but it's still wonderful that they explored this storyline at all and I'll take my gay crumbs wherever I can get them.

Angela's Past
Hitchcoc30 January 2023
This is an interesting episode because of the topics presented. First, we have the art world where people produce rather outrageous things, especially sculptures. There was a time when crushed auto cubes were considered the in thing. A couple of idiot kids are stealing in a junkyard and when a piece of mirror is removed, there is a skull behind it. We meet members of the art world whose lives are unconventional. This leads to a woman who Angela had a lesbian relationship with in college. She becomes a murder suspect. Finally, Daisy returns and begins to mess things up in the lab and to annoy people. She and Sweets have some time together.

What a Bunch of Horse Hockey
chadwick-869556 February 2024
Such a episode about Angela ... like we need another one.

Angela wants the truth ... not for the truth ... but to make her ex-lover innocent. She has the ethics of a stone.

That techno-babble about the difference in compression/tensile strengths from Angela? What a much of horse hockey. A car is crushed ... and people can perform such analysis?? Do people actually believe this? Angela? Anyone? Apparently, she is able, as an artist, to perform mathematical/physics magic out of nothing. I would like to see anyone try to perform such analysis.

Who pays for the Jeffersonian? In my experience, Involved in a local jury, the jury was instructed (by the judge) to forget what we see on TV. That I can believe. Horse hockey.

So many things about Angela in this episode ... oh, Angela is bi ... so let's make it all about that ... and Angela. At least Booth has support, mentioning his aunt ... good for him. Sweets does a good job.

writers need to get a grip

The dialogue between booth and brennan has sounded much like high school children bickering for some time ... neither is sensitive nor normal ... in point of fact they are both douchebags and not making me like this show ... superior attitudes often cause rebellion and distrust ... i'm surprised there hasn't been a murder in the lab before now
