ABC is bringing back a big chunk of its unscripted shows for the 2024-25 TV season.
The network has renewed seven series — American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Dancing With the Stars, Shark Tank and the ABC News-produced What Would You Do? — for next season. They join The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff of last fall’s breakout The Golden Bachelor, on the 2024-25 slate. (The Bachelorette is also set for its usual summer run.)
Notably missing from the list of pickups is America’s Funniest Home Videos, ABC’s longest-running entertainment series. A decision hasn’t been made yet on a possible 35th season for the show.
American Idol will air its eighth season on ABC (and 23rd overall) in 2024-25, although it will do so without judge Katy Perry, who is leaving at the end of the current season. Dancing With the Stars (season 33), The Bachelor...

The popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? is set to return after a several-year hiatus.
However, when it returns, the show will have a new twist, and it already appears fans aren’t happy with the concept.
The show last appeared on the air three years ago and received its renewal amid its 25th-anniversary celebration.
Millionaire debuted in the United States in 1999. Regis Philbin was the host, guiding contestants through multiple-choice questions with the money they could win increasing after every correct answer.
A version of the show aired on ABC in 2020 and 2021 with Late Night host Jimmy Kimmel as host.
However, the show was one of many productions that shut down during that time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In January 2022, Casey Wilson was a guest on The Deep Dive, a podcast hosted by her longtime friends and frequent comedy collaborators June Diane Raphael and Jessica St. Clair. The episode kicked off what the pod was calling their Lifelong Learners Series, an only moderately satirical moniker for their discussions dedicated to everything from tablescaping to mixology; Wilson — known for her highly popular Real Housewives-centric podcast Bitch Sesh — was enlisted to discuss what they called The Art of Small Talk. She and St. Clair, both professed experts in chit-chat, riffed about their favorite places to approach strangers (in line at Home Goods, in an elevator) and offered a few of their well-weathered tips (keeping it light, pivoting away from so-called energy vampires).

Gerry Turner, Theresa Nist Return To TV After Televised Wedding
Millions of Bachelor Nation viewers watched Theresa Nist and Gerry Turner marry on national television in early January 2024. The wedding came just two months after his proposal aired on the Golden Bachelor season finale.
After marrying on TV, the couple seemed to retreat from the public eye. Several of Gerry’s contestants made guest appearances on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. Some fans thought it was odd that ABC would recruit rejected constants to give Joey’s final three pieces of advice.

A Family Feud contestant’s answer left Steve Harvey speechless as he tossed his cue cards across the stage.
Donald, a contestant competing alongside his four family members, was asked by Steve to give his response to a survey question.
Steve already seemed to be entertained when he approached Donald at his family’s podium, laughing as he tried to make it through the survey clue without interrupting himself with a boisterous guffaw.
As Steve walked over to Donald, he asked, “If it weren’t for the Italians, we’d never know the Heavenly taste of what food?”
Donald was confident with his answer, firmly slapping the podium with one hand as he declared, “Italian dressing!”
Steve immediately began wheezing with laughter and had to walk away because he found Donald’s answer so amusing.

One Family Feud contestant suffered a faux pas that had Steve Harvey wondering what in the world they were thinking.
When each new round begins in an episode of Family Feud, each team sends up a designated family member to represent them at the podium.
In a recent episode, a woman named Erin stood across from her opponent as Steve read the survey question to them both.
“Name an occupation where someone wears a robe at work,” Steve read from his cue cards.
Erin was the first to tap her button and got in her answer just as the buzzer went off.
But, instead of naming the answer in noun form, Erin phrased it as a question.
Family Feud contestant confuses Steve Harvey when they phrase their answer like a Jeopardy! clue
“What is a surgeon?” Erin asked as she quickly realized she had just answered in question form.

Steve Harvey was taken aback by a Family Feud contestant’s Nsfw answer.
As viewers know, Family Feud contestants often have no shame when giving Steve their answers.
Such was the case during a recent episode of Family Feud when a competitor named Regina shared her risque response to a survey question.
Steve read the question to Regina and her family, asking them to name “a phrase that takes courage to say for the first time.”
When it was Regina’s turn to deliver her answer, she shamelessly told the award-winning entertainer, “Well, Steve, this doesn’t pertain to me because I’m celibate, but ‘You have a small penis!'”
Steve’s reaction was equally as entertaining as Regina’s answer.

Welcome to the time warp.
Technically, the awards being doled out live from the Peacock Theater at 5 p.m. Pst are the 2023 Emmy awards. The telecast had been scheduled to air back in September, but, like so much else in Hollywood, the Emmys were sidelined by the strikes. Now, four months later, the show will go on — on Fox, with Anthony Anderson as the evening’s emcee.
So, what does it all mean for the show? Let’s break it down.
1. Voting members of the TV Academy cast their votes as planned last summer for programming and performances that aired between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023. The complete list of nominees was announced July 12, two days before the SAG strike began, which feels like an eternity ago in Hollywood years. Had the Emmys remained on schedule, none of it would seem so odd. But now, all these months later, it means The Daily Show with Trevor Noah,...

Anthony Anderson is teaming up with his mother, Doris Bowman aka Mama Doris, in Fox’s latest competition series We Are Family, and he’s excited (and possibly nervous) to hear what she’s got to say.
Anderson and Bowman replaced Jamie Foxx and his daughter Corinne in the series, which launches January 3 and comes from Fox Alternative Entertainment and Apploff Entertainment.
The series showcases non-famous relatives of celebrities performing duets with their hidden famous family member. It features a studio audience composed of 100 contestants playing through multiple rounds of clues and gameplay to win up to $150,000 each by correctly guessing which celebrity the performer is related to before they are revealed.
We Are Family is not the first time that Anderson and his mother have worked together. Doris went viral after an appearance on Celebrity Family Feud, where her risqué answer stopped Steve Harvey in his tracks, and she...
