Same dish in another lesser known yet familiar language(s)
shu-fen23 February 2010
The entire piece just suits my taste and whets my appetite for more with very thoughtful elements: metal urban sound (music), minimalism interior design, bleached simple colours, sanitized sets, anorexic nervousness, horrible and fragmented past memories of a precocious and successful gifted music genius, posters of hints. A strong though predictable suspense by the unknown/unseen sinister viral suitor/killer/peeping-tom is a bonus to the setting of unreal world or other world. The cinematique language is familiar, nothing too new. Nevertheless, it's the spoken Romanian that makes the début project appealing and fresh to my eyes.

The entire work may be heavily influenced by western Eurofilm, may find it difficult to stand alone stylistically, artistically it's an attractive work that people may be game to watch again. Wishing to see and hear more from Romanian flavour cooked by Gheorghe Preda in the coming days.

A great movie

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a true gem,in my opinion it is one of the best motion pictures that has ever been produced in Romania. The director and the entire crew gives the idea of a very expensive movie even if the resources were limited. The camera work and angles are good and the leading lady Miss Florescu gives an extraordinary performance.A young, beautiful and successful song writer is being diagnosed with an asthmatic affection.Soon she is discovers that she is being stalked by a secret admirer that never reveals his identity and his intentions. The beautiful Ana is constantly being tormented by this bizarre sick pervert. In the end of the movie after she has an accident she receives a letter in the hospital from her admirer in which she is atentioned that they will soon met.During the movie her admirer has several attempt to send messages to Ana by sending her different note ,a love statement written on a public bus and an annoying blue clown that represents a tourist company(this being a direct invitation to a sea resort). The movie is psychotic, her admirer has a strange taste for blue, even the car plates have Blue written on them, the clown is dressed in blue,in his sick mind everything is blue.At one moment Ana follows a limousine with blue license plates. In the end we can conclude that this strange admirer of Ana could could easily be a group or some strange entity. The final scenes point that he is part of some kind of elite,a great film you should truly watch this movie if you like good indie cinema.
