- [while setting the dining table]
- Mercedes: Today I decided to do something different.
- Gustavo: [looking at the food] Roast beef?
- Mercedes: No, chicken.
- Gustavo: [making a face] Oh... even better.
- [She goes back to the kitchen. Their son arrives the room]
- Filho de Mercedes 2: [looking at the food] Roast beef?
- Gustavo: No, chicken.
- Filho de Mercedes 2: Oh, shit.
- [First lines]
- Mercedes: [Voiceover] We get born and we die. And in the mean time we study, we work, we get married, we have children, we exercise... we get sick. No one escapes it. When I paint, I'm not thinking about becoming a celebrity. My painting is a way to express all the loose things about me, about my personality.
- [pause]
- Mercedes: That's me. My name is Mercedes.
- [Mercedes is setting the dining table]
- Mercedes: Today I decided to do something different.
- Gustavo: [looking at the food] Oh, I love roast beef!
- Mercedes: No, it's chicken.
- Gustavo: [making a face] Oh. Even better.
- [She goes back into the kitchen]
- Filho de Mercedes 1: [whispering] Dad... the chicken is still breathing.
- [Filho de Mercedes 2 walks into the dining room]
- Filho de Mercedes 2: Roast beef?
- Gustavo: No, chicken.
- Filho de Mercedes 2: Oh, shit.
- Mercedes: [to her shrink] There are so many women inside of me... and a few men as well. Prepare for group therapy!... Just kidding.
- [At the theater with Mercedes]
- Gustavo: [voiceover] I can't believe I came to the theater on a Saturday night. It can't be. I've been here for half an hour and it seems like I walked in Tuesday! When I get out of here, I'll get hammered. And you'll start nagging me, saying I'll pass out because I don't have a young man's liver anymore! The only thing she talks about now is my liver. Few years ago, she talked about my legs, my smile, my ass, my gaze... Now it's my liver, my pancreas! *That's* loving someone's inside!
