Nobody — and that means Nobody — makes a movie like Giuseppe Andrews. The insane antics committed to produce Giuseppe’s 2007 epic Garbanzo Gas forms the basis of the documentary Giuseppe Makes a Movie, which is embarking on a North American screening tour this month. Dates and locations are below, which includes stops in Montreal; Los Angeles; Portland, Or; Austin, TX; and more.
Giuseppe Makes a Movie is directed by Adam Rifkin, who previously directed the cult hit Detroit Rock City, which co-starred Giuseppe and seemed like a terrific vehicle to launch the quirky young actor into near instant stardom.
But, Giuseppe had other ideas.
Shunning the Hollywood system, Giuseppe instead chose to work behind the camera and make movies in an incredibly unlikely location — the trailer park in which he lives with his biggest supporter, his father.

The Festival du Nouveau Cinema has arrived and because of it’s strong line-up, there is no way it is possible to see everything worth watching. Faced with an impossible task I proposed myself to focus on just one section of this year’s festival, Temps Ø, which is celebrating it’s 10th year in 2014. This section features the more obscure and rebel films of the Fnc, programed for an audience who enjoy witty cinematic experiences. My most anticipated films from the Temps Ø section this year is a mix of genres and styles that explore different themes and influences.
