A strong start.

Car salesman Hero is in the dock, accused of murder, when he sacks his defence barrister, he tells his story.

Some great acting here, I think the acting was possibly the best element here, a good story, but nothing particularly remarkable, but it was absorbing enough.

Samuel Adewunmi was terrific here, this guy has some real presence on screen, and one fabulous speaking voice.

It's an interesting story, a real eye opener. We get an insight into the story, but there is still a lot to learn, lots we don't know, I am intrigued to learn more.

I thought this was an impressive start, 8/10.

Episode 1

Based on the novel from real life barrister, Imran Mahmood. He was inspired to write the story after seeing the experiences of young ethnic minorities going through the criminal justice system.

The first episode opens with Hero (Samuel Adewunmi) a car salesman who is in the dock, accused of murdering a local drug dealer, Jamil.

Hero has fired his lawyer and chose to deliver a lengthy closing statement to the jury.

Pleading his innocence, Hero wants to tell the jury his own story and about himself. The circumstances that landed him in court and it is all about the mysterious Kyra. The girl he went out with, who suddenly disappeared and he later found working as a prostitute.

The first episode did came across like a meandering monologue. It was scene setting and some of the characters such as Jamil and his cronies were painted in broad strokes.

Hero was an interesting character and at least I was interested to follow his story.
