Shadow of Malevolence

While they still have a little problem filling an entire episode with excitement, this is definitely a good and fun ride with these characters. There is a lot of entertainment value in this episode, and the space battle looks very good. The episode's second act seems a little lost for imagination and the Malevolence does not come across as threatening as they want it to, as it seems like it was pretty easy to destroy it. But I have always liked the show's depiction of Anakin Skywalker, and I got a lot of him in this episode actually being a leader. They continue to add more fuel to the relationship between him and Ahsoka, giving Ahsoka a lot of development in the process, which was necessary after her debut in that film. It is not a great "Clone Wars" episode, but it keeps you entertained for the majority of its runtime.

Out of the Shadows.

This is a very solid and enjoyable episode.

Anakin leads a squadron of Y-wing bombers with Ahsoka and Plo Koon to attack General Grievous ship The Malevolence in order to save a medical facility that treats injured clone troopers.

The space battle is fun, the character driven dialogue is strong and there are some slightly dark themes of sacrificing lives to save other lives which are interesting and add quality.

Anakin and Ahsoka are good together and Grievous makes a menacing adversary.

My rating: 8.5/10.

Surprisingly flawless

The episodes of the clone wars are still going strong and with a great pacing. This episode is extremely enjoyable and action-packed. I don't feel that the episodes are 20+ minutes, their pacing is so great.

Could be heftier

Warning: Spoilers
I know that I will have to wade through a lot of the early part of the show since it is very episodic at the moment. The battle against malevolence is surprisingly lame and it ends up merely consisting of the ships moving forward in a line and then destroying it with little twists or turns. I appreciate that death is a possible consequence in this show (usually for very minor characters but still) and that Anakin and Ahsoka are vibrant characters. Each battle just could be a bit more tactically interesting. I'm not expecting the most complex thing ever or anything. I also understand that the somewhat languid animation is most likely a result of budget so I won't judge the show for how "slow" the action scenes feel.
