As far as pilots go, this wasn't terrible. The acting was a bit stiff and a lot of characters were introduced with little backstory. While the story was slow, it was at least interesting. I'll keep watching.

This opening episodes plot and character decision was beyond moronic. It sometimes feels like it was going for comical when the first draft was written than change to try and be more serious.
An example of this is 1 character hoping on a ride on mower to escape the rising zombies, even though the mower take serval attempts to get started and goes at a casual walking speed pace. He than hits a rock and tumbles off it, it was so over done if felt like if it was done in a car he would have gone flying through the windscreen after hitting a trolley while driving in a carpark.
Another example is the character leads people down into the basement of a funeral home for safety, literal walking past a flight of steps leading to an upper level.....and yes the room they took shelter in has the draws they keep the bodies in with many seemingly be occupied.
Oh and some plot about fraking and investigating a body, are they planning on killing the detective or what its hard to say it just makes zero sense.

So did not actually get to the end of the first episode it was so poor. At 50 minutes in I had, had enough, this was an opportunity missed. They had obviously spent some money on the production but was anyone really paying attention? We all know we have to suspend or beliefs at sometimes with programs like this but really? Police detective turns up so examine a body found in a mine and brings with him a lighter.... really? The fact that they had ten minutes earlier sent a worker down with a dodgy torch was bad enough but they then had her send him down with just a lighter, stupid and no reason for it. Could have been real and sent them with adequate lighting, just took away from the immersion very poor error.
