Dave’s first original sitcom by Baby Cow Productions sees The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley zapped to a fantasy dimension...
Having brought Red Dwarf out of retirement in 2009 successfully enough to keep it out, Dave has taken another punt on scripted comedy. A cautious punt, you might say, on the basis of short three-part series Zapped.

You can understand the timid approach. Until Yonderland, fantasy sitcom has been a rough business. It’s pricy and niche, at least on TV. Once Upon a Time has added a familiar face — and a very familiar voice — to its Season 4 riff on Frozen.
Tyler Jacob Moore (Shameless, Gcb) has been cast as Anna’s onetime suitor, Hans, E! Online reports.
The recurring character — who will first appear in Episode 3 — is described as “a well-bred prince with a serious chip on his shoulder,” a young man who burns to be king. (Mild spoiler alert for Frozen ahead!) Refined and well-spoken on the outside, Hans has a mean streak a mile wide and will do anything to claim the power and respect he thinks he deserves.

Once Upon a Time has found itself in the undesirable situation of needing to re-cast a small part from its second season. In the Belle-centric episode “Lacey,” Robin Hood was played by Merlin’s Tom Ellis, but was only ever seen from a distance, which I can bet the writers of Once are grateful for now that Ellis is unavailable to continue the part. We saw so little of him that when the character reappears in Season 3, played by a different actor, only the most astute observers will be able to tell there’s a difference. Still, nobody likes to have to re-cast a part, even if it doesn’t have a huge impact.
As for who will be taking over the Robin Hood role, TVLine reported Sean Maguire (Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire) was given the part, which will have a recurring arc in the third season.

Kevin Hart is noticeably short for a guy. He has a standup comedy show called I’m a Grown Little Man for Pete’s sake. At that height it’s either be the jokester or become the joke. Well, Kev’s laughing all right — all the way to the bank. Hart has all but been omitted from lists of comedians on the verge of a huge breakthrough. That may all change with his stellar performance in last weekend’s box office hit, Think Like a Man, which offers him just the type of exposure he needs to reach a larger audience. As Cedric, a bitter divorcee who can’t stop talking about his wife or arguing with her, Hart is knee-slapping funny. And he’s following up that breakthrough role with a small but punch-line-heavy part in this weekend’s big release The Five-Year Engagement.

"Harry Potter" regular Rupert Grint and veteran thesp Jonathan Pryce have both joined the WW2 soccer flick "Wartime Wanderers" reports The Guardian.
The story follows the 1939 Bolton Wanderers F.C. team who enlisted to active duty en masse: a rarity among professional footballers of the time and saw action in France, North Africa and Italy. Only one of the 15 team members, captain Harry Goslin, was killed in action.
Pryce will play the team’s manager, while Grint will play the team joker Ernie Forrest. "Krod Mandoon" and "Meet the Spartans" hunk Sean Maguire will play Goslin.
Also onboard are Matthew McNulty as Ray Westwood, and Bradley Walsh as the Sergeant Major and the team's army handler. David Whitney (“Kandahar Break") directs from a script Jack Seddon and Tim Purcell adapted from Purcell's book.

The future of "Two and a Half Men" is, let's say, cloudy at the moment.
If we had to guess right now, we'd say that the show, which is currently the most-watched comedy on TV, will be back in some form -- with or without Charlie Sheen -- for 2011-12. CBS will announce its lineup for next season in mid-May, which means the network, Warner Bros. TV, creators Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn and Sheen have about two and a half months to figure out what happens next.
But what if the worst-case scenario for CBS happens and "Men" doesn't come back at all?
Yes, the network would probably suffer some in the ratings -- but it would probably also come out Ok. CBS also has the No. 2 and 3 comedies in terms of viewers in "The Big Bang Theory" and "Mike & Molly"; both shows are also in the Top 25 this...

On the heels of Chaos landing a midseason series order at CBS, one of the show’s co-stars, British actor James Murray, has signed with UTA where he will be represented by Theresa Peters. Murray, best known in the U.S. for his roles on ITV’s Primeval and Comedy Central's Krod Mandoon, had been without U.S. agency representation. He will continue to be managed by Generate and also repped by U.K.'s United Agents. Murray was pursued by multiple Hollywood agencies after getting buzz for his role in the pilot for Chaos, about a group of rogue CIA operatives led by Rick Martinez (Freddy Rodriguez) combating bureaucratic gridlock, rampant incompetence, and political infighting. Murray plays a hard-living member of the Ods team who formerly worked for the British Secret Service.

Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire is just one of those shows that wasn't meant to be. It didn't do too poorly during the brief time it was on air, but it didn't do well enough for its funders to keep the cash flow up (or so it is said).
Kröd Mändoon (Sean Maguire, who starred in the similarly spoofy Meet the Spartans) is the leader of a, uh, resistance, a motley crew of losers: Aneka (India de Beaufort), his sort-of girlfriend with an insatiable sexual appetite (that she tries to satiate with everyone but Kröd); Loquasto (Steve Speirs), his faithful pig-nosed-and-eared servant; Zezelryck (Kevin Hart), a wannabe sorcerer; and Bruce (Marques Ray), the flamboyantly-gay lover of the gang's beloved General Arcadius. Together they must fight Chancellor Donold David Dongalor (Matt Lucas) and his loyal right-hand man Barnabus (Alex MacQueen).

Moviegoers who make the visit to Tim Burton’s big-screen, 3-D version of Alice in Wonderland (2010) will get a double dose of Matt Lucas. Why? Well, because Lucas -- the wildly popular English comedian best known for Little Britain (TV) and Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire (TV) -- plays both Tweedledum and Tweedledee in the eagerly anticipated March 5 release. Lucas is part of a typically cool Burton cast that also includes Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen, Crispin Glover, Christopher Lee, and Timothy Spall, as well as newcomer Mia Wasikowska, who stars as Alice. Burton, as one might expect, doesn't spin the traditional Alice in Wonderland tale, but rather sends a now-19-year-old Alice back down the rabbit hole to Wonderland -- or rather Underland -- where she takes on the nefarious Red Queen (Bonham Carter). Manganiello, who's guested on several episodes of "Himym," will play a former high-school football star turned husband and father, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Bays and Thomas co-created the pilot with "How I Met Your Mother" writers Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly.

NBC's new comedy series "100 Questions" is undergoing more casting changes ahead of its midseason debut.
The series' producing team has opted to recast two more regular roles, played in the pilot by Elizabeth Ho and Joy Suprano.
That follows the dismissal of another regular in the pilot, Amir Talai, a couple of weeks ago.
With the three casting changes, only three original "100 Questions" cast members will stay on: star Sophie Winkleman, male lead David Walton and Christopher Moynihan, who also created the show and serves as an executive producer.
The Ums/Tagline-produced "100 Questions" centers on a young woman looking for love (Winkleman) who joins a popular online dating site.
The three vacant roles on the series, which are being recast, are her male dating counselor and two girlfriends.

So in last Sunday’s much-discussed episode of Brothers & Sisters, Kevin and Scotty considered having a threeway with Kevin’s oh-so-forward ex, Chad.
I didn’t mind that Kevin and Scotty ultimately decided not to go through with it – that seems to fit their characters, after all.
But I was shocked that the writers managed to do a whole storyline about a gay couple considering whether or not to have a threeway … without ever saying a single interesting thing about a gay couple considering whether or not to have a threeway!
No matter. It’s still enough of an excuse to declare this the “Threeway Edition” of B.G.W.E!
Incest, “Fun Buddies,” And Teabagging, Oh My!
Along with Brothers & Sisters’ potential threeway, the big news last week was when easily-manipulated Fox viewers decided to protest the fact that President Obama has already cut taxes for most taxpayers (while...

Along with Brothers & Sisters’ potential threeway, the big news last week was when easily-manipulated Fox viewers decided to protest the fact that President Obama has already cut taxes for most taxpayers (while...

.Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. is on this Thursday Night. My favorite thing about this series is Chancellor Dongalor, played by "Little Britain's" Matt Lucas. Not much else. Comedy central released a teaser video and synopsis of the new show: "Krod is nominated for a position at the prestigious Elite Resistance Council, but first must retrieve a precious gem from a deadly cyclops to prove his mettle. Tune in to .Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. every Thursday at 10pm on Comedy Central." Are you more like Krod or Aneka? Do you have an inner Dongalor? Take the Krod Mandoon personality quiz and find out: here Flesh Snorkel The Cyclops wins a titillating game of...

London -- It's all about culture for BBC2 controller Janice Hadlow, who on Wednesday unveiled her first season of programming for the influential terrestrial channel.
Hadlow said the channel's spring/summer lineup will include a fresh slot and lengthened running time for flagship arts show "The Culture Show" as well as what she termed a "poetry season," that will include shows featuring famous faces talking about why poetry matters.
Hadlow, who was appointed controller of BBC2 last year, said "The Culture Show" will have an "enhanced role" in her channel's lineup. The arts magazine program is moving from late night to early evening and will run at 50 minutes rather than half an hour. The team on the show also will be commissioned to produce six hourlong documentaries on contemporary arts and culture.
Away from the highbrow front, the new season will include an action series set in space titled "Defying Gravity.

Over at Gateworld, a fairly big, fairly popular site devoted to all things Stargate, a recent post by writer Darren Sumner about gay characters being part of the new Stargate: Universe series has brought out the sunlight-starved basement dwellers, curious to let everyone know that if same-sex folks appear on the show, they'll be forced to stop pirating the new series from Bittorrent.
A sampling of such gems? Here's one:
"...If this show become Star Gay-t it will ruin the show for a majority of people who are repulsed by this stuff.. whoever is pushing this is having some type of mental problem and making us all look at it. Bringing it out on front pages on the wrong venue is wrong. Whatever cause these people are pushing is going to backfire. If I am looking for some deviant desire, I do not come here and post it on the...

Best.Gay.Week.Ever? I don't think so. First, there was that Amazon.com kerfuffle where the online merchant began treating almost all books dealing with gay subject matter (even purely academic ones) as adult content — excluding many very worthy titles from their sales rankings system and standard searches.
One sad result? When you type in "homosexuality" as a search on Amazon, the results are skewed dramatically toward crap like this:
(Here's my bit of unsolicited advice to Amazon shoppers who might be interested in A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality: "Do everyone a favor and don't have kids!")
So what's going on here? On the surface, it sure looked like Amazon had adopted some sort of conservative policy to effectively bury positive gay representation on their site.
But then company spokespersons variously blamed it on a computer "glitch," and a "ham-fisted cataloging error" and made assurances they were working on a fix.

Dita VonTeese, Kelly Osbourne, Travor Rains, and designer Katy Rodriguez are expected to attend the 12th Annual Beautiful People Party by Paper magazine. The mega party is scheduled to take place at Hollywood Blvd on Wednesday night.
Other celebrities expected to attend the party are Danny Masterson, Lynn Collins, Bitsie Tulloch, Rachel Boston, Lacy Swimmer (Dancing with the Stars), Megan Park (The Secret Life of the American Teenager) and Kevin Hart (star Krod Mandoon, Comedy Central), a press release says.

After earning a standing ovation/ovulation from the judges for his cover of a cover of "Mad World", American Idol hopeful Adam Lambert has once again emerged from the Gay of the Week fray as this week's gender-bendy, impressively savvy victor.
To find out by what margin Adam bested the other challengers, read on. And be sure to check back in on Friday when a new crop of hopefuls throw down the gay gauntlet in the name of network supremacy!
Why he won: Sure, photos of Lambert making out with another guy and video of him talking about how he's not into girls have gossip tongues wagging more than they do for the usual Idol contestant. But I have a feeling that it's Lambert's talent, smarts and gigundus bronze balls that have really won the hearts of the gay voting public ... and hence, the crown.
Oh, and by the way:...

Bisexual surgeon Callie sleeps with a male friend and her girlfriend on the same day on Grey's Anatomy (ABC), and House, M.D. (Fox) promotes a racy lesbian sex scene for October sweeps (the only time the bisexual character is ever actually involved with women on the show).
Fox's new animated show Sit Down, Shut Up includes a "flamboyant" bisexual male drama teacher who is obsessed with sex, and Comedy Central's new series Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire features a gay guy eager to have sex with 300 men in a row. Saturday Night Live regularly falls back on gay panic humor — and (usually) not in a good way.

Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire, a new series debuting this week on Comedy Central, might be set in a medieval time of wizards and warlords – but it has a very modern sensibility, and an equally modern sense of humor.
When Krod Mandoon, the title character and a self-proclaimed freedom fighter, is giving his band of companions “notes” after a particularly disappointing battle, the hapless wizard Zezelryck complains of a “hostile work environment.”
“We’re freedom fighters!” says an exasperated Krod. “All of our work environments are hostile!”
In short, Krod is part fantasy satire, and part office workplace comedy, but with a slightly different kind of office. And like the actual The Office, it even includes a gay character, Bruce (Marques Ray), who eventually ends up joining Krod’s band.

Kevin Hart has joined the all-star cast of Screen Gems and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment's remake of "Death at a Funeral," being directed by Neil Labute.
Hart joins Chris Rock, Tracy Morgan, Martin Lawrence, Zoe Saldana and others in the story of a wildly dysfunctional family that comes together for the patriarch's funeral. Chaos ensues when dark secrets of the past are threatened to be exposed by a man claiming he was the gay lover of the family's respected elder.
The comedian is playing a character named "Brian the Undertaker."
Hart will be seen in the new Comedy Central show "Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire," which premieres Thursday. His feature credits include the Screen Gems' drama "Not Easily Broken" as well as 20th Century Fox's "Meet Dave" and Warners' "Fool's Gold." He is repped by UTA and 3 Arts Entertainment.
