Decent enough non-sequitur humor.

The series follows the misadventures of two roommates consisting of Rory, a twenty something slacker, and The Summoner, a magical alien with a tenuous grasp of the English language who can summon anything at will but his powers cause more problems than they solve.

Created by New Yorker cartoonist, Charlie Hankin, and based on his 2017 short of the same name, The Summoner is another in a line of additions to Syfy's TZGZ animation block targeting similar audiences to Adult Swim or Fox's short lived ADHD block. The Summoner doesn't break the mold when it comes to this kind of show, but for what it is it's fine.

The show is a series of 3-4 minute shorts that can be boiled down to Rory tried to do something (usually with misguided notions) and the Summoner tries to help only to either Summon something useless or something that makes the situation worse. As far as the setup goes it does lead to some good gags with the sheer randomness of what can be "summoned" and the fact there's a magical alien walking around with near omnipotent powers that no one cares about is novel and charming enough.

The Summoner as far as non-sequitur nonsense goes is pretty entertaining. While not every gag landed, I thought there was enough to justify a recommendation to those who are fans of this type of humor.
