Is he..... smiling....?
exlana28 November 2021
It's probably the best episode so far. We finally see some darker side of the plot. It's very interesting to see some development about Harrison, his past and what and the consequences of it. Also, at the end, is Dexter........ smiling...??

I might be wrong. Curious to see what happened next.

The Dark Passenger
CulvertonSmith28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A really good episode which I found to be thoroughly engaging, especially with how it explores the reason certain people lie. Why is Kurt lying? Because he's a killer willing to take matters into his own hands. Why is Harrison lying? Because he is the aggressor. I particularly liked the scene in which Dexter examines the blood spatter, with Deb helping him to act it out. It's such a neat way to visually represent what he sees in his mind. I am a little nervous about the direction of Harrison as a character, but I've got my fingers crossed that they manage to pull it off well. Was this always his destiny?

He has my Dark Passenger *smile*

Ten years have passed, fans were unsatisfied with the final 8th season of "Dexter" and Showtime understood that some adjustments had to be done, but also, that there is still a fanbase and interrest in this show.

Now, Dexter is back, episode 4 and the show is keeping its good quality that started with episode 3.

We finally get there, what I was expecting: Family is blood; father and son were born in blood. A little bit predictable, but strong storystelling.

I like this strong theme from the original Dexter shows and it's nicely woven into this new story.

Without spending too much words: Some slow-paced suspense build-up is done for the next episodes to come. Some character development is getting deeper.

Really good episode.

Michael C. Hall shows some of his best acting to date and it's just a pleasure to watch him as Dexter.

Stay tuned to this show.

I give this 4th episode: 8 stars. It's on the same level as episode 3. Great.

Highly recommended.

Show starts here

Is it okay if we called this episode legacies? Because who would thought that will happen? Definitely not me and for sure not in those circumstances.

The ending though make the episode a lot better and kinda pave the way to the ending of this season.

We are getting there!

Dexter's last season ending was disliked by almost everyone unanimously. We're all here for catharsis. We all want one good season, with an ending this show deserves. This episode is slowly building up to that ending, fingers crossed.

"He was born in blood just like you"

Warning: Spoilers
It's such an awesome episode just like the ones from before season 8. His son slashed the boy who's being bullied and lied about it and I like how Dexter solved the case as if he's still a blood splatter analyst. His latest victim's father is a serial killer, too and he's also lying about his dead son.

That smile...
mental-micky28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What an awesome episode, best of the series so far.

There have been subtle nuances coming from Harrison all season that he's "not right" and I also believe he absolutley knows about Dexter's dark past and wants him to open up.

Harrison has been getting more edgy with each episode and after almost killing Ethan he has unintentially revealed a darkness in him, but it's not the same as Dex's "Dark Passenger".

Ethan hadn't actually done anything bad and this shows Harrison doesn't have Dex's code. He doesn't appear to have empathy for others and is more like a sociopath than someone who avenges bad deeds.

That smile when Dex found the blade was chilling, he's happy about this, but for how long?

Usually..

...sequals, prequals and what not aren't that good. Let Dexter: New Blood be the exception to the rule. In fact I think it's even better than the original and that show was great. The storyline of the son in this episode was a bit predictable but I like that they don't drag it out into 4 or 5 episodes.

This was one of the best episodes thus far.

The vibe of this show is great, I like how they took it to small town America and the tempo of the storyline is great.

Can't wait to see the climax.

Connections to the past.
blndbahaden28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think this episode was the best episode of new blood so far and for so many reasons. Kurt is officially revealed as the villain, Harrison is revealed to have a dark passenger and he is very good at hiding it maybe even better than his dad, and at the end Dexter finds out that his son is like himself and he likes that which was felt kinda strange but very understandable because he now has someone to really open up to. This episode somehow managed to improve season 4 and the character of trinity by telling us that trinity was actually successful on making Dexter's life harder by killing his wife and intentionally making his son watch it so it would mess him up forever which evidently did.

Better, but still too slow
jkg2328 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I like how the revival kinda continues the story from the 4th season of original Dexter, the last season that was a top notch TV (Showtime did the similar thing in "Homeland" and it worked wonderfully). We have many references to Trinity Killer, to Dexter and Harrison's births in blood and it gives great vibes. They make us forget that seasons 5-8 even existed and giving us what was the best about Dexter and I love it !

We have confirmations about Kurt being the killer, Harrison having a dark passenger and although these things were pretty obvious I am actually glad that they are not trying to do some ridiculous plot twists about that and just making a story with sense.

And I am still in love with Deb in this season. It's amazing how they brought this character to life. New Blood would've been much worse without her.

I am hoping though that the next episodes will have better pacing, because these episodes thus far are just too slow for my taste and waiting a week for such slow episodes is very annonying. They should've either make less episodes in New Blood with better pacing or release two of them each week.

Wow, this is the best Season of Dexter until now!

The episodes are getting better and better.

The you can feel in this episode the tension is rising to build up the big Event that is coming in the last Episode/s.

This new Season is so perfect, the Story is better than ever before and the atmosphere with all the Snow and Christmas is perfect.

Closing in on the Dexter formula
DrMarazanvose28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Dexter of old was apathetic - what happened?

He is displaying emotions that I thought his character was devoid of?

Slowly but surely we are getting the old Dexter vibe back.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The police chief who is a model of efficiency and smarts misses the evidence that point to Harrisson instigating the stabbing? No very credible. Also you're telling me no one will remember Clancy Brown's character giving that runaway a ride? C'mon!

Also Debra is quite annoying and doesn't add anything.

Weak episode.

The episode was amazing and shocking, and there were not many events in it, and I liked to remember the old Dexter time and the escalation of events that happens after each episode, something very beautiful and satisfying the followers.

This show or season exceeded my expectations
suleymn29 November 2021
Well I have to say I had no high expectations when I heard about Dexter getting a new season but maaan I'm so happy right now that Clyde Philipps decided to do this revival and give Dexter an ending it deserves. I'm catching myself looking forward to each new episode and thats a good sign. This episode was really good and kept me interested in every scene.

9.5/10.

Great episode! It's the season's turning point
manhattanjeff29 November 2021
Dexter and Debra argue about whether Harrison is a hero or has a Dark Passenger like his father. A knife fight between Harrison and his friend Ethan provides important clues that will change the direction of the series.

The episode also delves deeper into multiple mysteries in Iron Lake. There are echoes of Twin Peaks as several quirky characters become potential suspects -- and Dexter has a connection to all of them. Even the Trinity Killer makes a "cameo appearance" -- introducing another possible direction later in the season.

This is an awesome episode, and gives me confidence that New Blood has the potential to live up to the excellence of the original series!

milos-199929 November 2021
Best episode so far. Things are in motion.

Built up perfectly, a lot of questions answered and we're only halfway there. Man, I love Dexter. Great solving mystery, I like Deb being here in contrast to what other people think. She's better than Harry because she helped raising Harrison, much more meaningful coming from her than it would be with Harry. Although Jennifer is overacting a bit, maybe not, she's a good side of Dexter that needs to yell a lot to surpass the whispers of his Dark Passenger.

And that ending... Flashback to good old days when I had to click NEXT immediately after episode ended.

I'm sharp as a razor for what's to come :)

Is Harrison really who he says he is?
davidkudransky29 November 2021
Something hit me while watching this episode. Killers always disguise themselves and pretend to be someone else. They have a way of hiding in plain site. Photos and documents can always to stolen or forged. Is Harrison really who he says he is?

Absolutely Brilliant
katestarr-8635428 November 2021
I love the new season. All characters play their parts well ,apart from maybe Dexter police girlfriend who is a bit annoying but that hardly spoils series .It reminds me first few seasons of Dexter which were the best. It gets more and more interesting as the story develops I just wish all episodes were out already .

Harrison ruins the show
Larrypiraeus30 November 2021
I think this is the worst episode..that kid is a bad actor with annoying character in the show..dexter should be the main issue, not that kid..

don't focus on harrison's character so much cause the show would become weaker and weaker..

Cliché, but i love it.
LovingDexterMorgan28 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I can't believe it, Harrison's a psycho too, that's all I didn't want from this new season, it's as if the show has fallen into a ridiculous cliché. Kurt's officially the Big Bad and Molly will soon be a huge problem for Dexter. That said, ep5 is the first one critics haven't yet seen, and it will be great, also thanks to the fact that Dexter will kill again.
