AUSTRALIAN cinema has a habit of portraying people in their rawest state.
"Wake in Fright" and "Sunday too far away" are examples of what I mean.
I saw Squeaker's mate, a short, at a Sydney cinema on its release (it was unheralded as a support feature) and haven't been able to get it out of my head since. I saw it as a first date (hi Linda!) and often wonder if she remembers it as I do. No spoilers here and I can't recall enough of the details to critique it beyond my promise to you that to describe it as disturbing is the understatement of the decade.
I trust this entry generates some kind of focus that may cause knowledge of this piece to emerge. What I wouldn't give to see it again.
