Sausage the Welsh pig is hours away from giving birth. But it soon becomes apparent that Sausage's life - and the life of her unborn litter - are in danger, and Kate gets hands-on to rescue her animal and the little ones.
Kate and Tim gather the sheep for shearing in the summer, but find the price of wool is falling fast. Kate visits a nearby honey farm, where she helps the owner remove a nest of bees from a family's home.
It's all hands to the pumps as calving season kicks in. Kate is joined by a local butcher who shows her how to butcher one of her own pigs. Back in the farmhouse, she whips up a simple pasta dish.
Kate creates hay for bedding and food - a process that can make or break a farm. It's back-breaking work, made bearable by a glass of cider at the end of the long day.
