Gripping, first-rate suspense

Excellent in every way. Had every emotion you could ask for, it was intense, drew me right into the story, acting was over-the-top - best of everything I've watched in months!

Would have been better if Ducky was in this episode and worrying about the team. Good episode

Head of the Snake

Warning: Spoilers
Wilmer seems to be phoning it in this season as Torres, but what can you do. Hoping we are near the end of this drug-related stuff on the show too as it isn't worth pursuing.

Unbelievable
CrimeDrama128 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
McGee lacking common sense. Fortunately, there haven't been many examples. I just don't buy it. Degrees from M. I. T. And Johns Hopkins, plus ALL of his training tells him to take cover after taking fire but he acts like The Terminator and just keeps marching toward the airplane. Torres also lacks common sense. Instead of asking about Bishop, he walks toward the destroyed airplane - still smoldering - and doesn't stop when Gibbs tells him to. Is Bishop possibly alive in that airplane? No. Thinking Bishop is dead and freaking out would make sense. Memo to writers: drama and conflict cannot defy common sense. It just doesn't work. Anyway, who believes Bishop was kidnapped that easily?

Fine at best

Warning: Spoilers
The 18th season has been decent so far. "Head of the Snake" is yet another fine episode in this season.

Let's start with the good aspects.

. The production values of the episode are great. "Head of the Snake" is well-directed, the music fits the scenery and the acting's good.

. There are moments of very good tension, the story is mostly compelling and I did enjoy the turns this case takes.

But...

. The dialogue could have been better at times, the humor doesn't always hit the mark. The conclusion to the opioids investigation feels rushed, it would have better if the writers streched out some of those good ideas they had. Wish we would have seen more of Merryweather too.

Overall, a fine episode.

6/10 HK.

So Many Plot Holes
buddybradley-226654 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Episode fell into holes over and over. At every major plot turn. Without revealing too much, here's two.

Bad guys capture an agent monitoring one of their locations, but don't notice that one of their guys was killed.

An agent takes on a jet plane with a hand gun. Gets shot from an unknown source but gets up without cover and continues; gets shot again. Unbelievable.
