With a long-standing career that has spanned genres from the mind-bending Inception to the action-fueled Batman trilogy, followed by his space adventure Interstellar, Christopher Nolan is known for being the mastermind behind few of the most celebrated films of the century. While his movies have grossed more than $4B and have sparked endless discussions, Nolan revealed the only film of his that left him impressed.

Welcome back, physical media fans. It's time for another Blu-ray round-up, and this particular edition features a study in contrasts. On one hand, we have what many will consider to be one of the best movies of the year: "Dune: Part Two" (you can read our review right here). On the other, we also have what is arguably one of the worst movies of the year: Sony's woefully inept "Madame Web" (check out our review here). But that's not all! We also have new 4K releases of several great "older" titles. Throw in the latest from one of the Coen Brothers and a Jason Statham action pic as well, and you've got yourself a jam-packed Blu-ray round-up. So keep spinning those discs and read on.

As Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios continue their search for a director to take over from Jon Watts on Spider-Man 4, a new rumor is claiming that both studios may be in agreement on a filmmaker to take the helm of the highly-anticipated No Way Home sequel.
According to MyTimeToShineHello, James Wan is one of the directors in the mix to helm the movie. Whether this means he's actually had discussions about boarding the project is not clear.
Wan has previously directed the likes of The Conjuring, Malignant, Insidious, and both Aquaman movies for Warner Bros.
The scooper is also claiming that Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, will make her debut in the movie.
Felicity Jones played Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man movies, but never suited-up as her costumed alter-ego. Anne Hathaway - who played Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises - was all set to debut as an earlier...

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is considered one of the best Batman movies of all time. From its execution to the cinematic scenes and well-built characters, the movie not only perfectly captures the true essence of Batman but also gives a befitting end to the whole tale.

For years, fans have been debating over the politics incorporated in Christopher Nolan’s films, especially in his universally acclaimed The Dark Knight trilogy. Many have argued that the themes explored in the acclaimed trilogy are a bit more right-leaning, especially the threequel The Dark Knight Rises is considered to be the most political of them all.
However, according to the man himself, The Dark Knight trilogy is not supposed to be political but about the upending of society. But not everyone is convinced by the Oscar-winner’s explanation.

In American animation, talking animal movies are a dime-a-dozen, but the "Kung Fu Panda" series is a gem. A big part of the appeal comes from the charming lead performance of Jack Black as Dragon Warrior Po (read /Film's interview with Black on the "Kung Fu Panda" circuit here). Another reason is the Wuxia-inspired action, where the bouncy CGI complements the characters' acrobatics and allows filmmakers to execute "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" style wire-fu with no need for actual wires.
Then there's the other secret ingredient: the villains. In each of the four films made so far (with the "Kung Fu Panda 4" box office making it likely another chapter won't be far behind), Po faces a new adversary, one with a new power he must overcome while also advancing on his own spiritual journey. Pretty typical hero's journey stuff, but like in martial arts, it's all about the proper execution.

Six years after "Deadpool 2" became a huge hit (technically Brad Pitt's biggest movie), we're finally getting a third entry in the wildly popular superhero franchise. This time, Ryan Reynolds is suiting up again as the Merc with a Mouth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a wild, R-rated trip through the multiverse. Not only that, he's also called upon Hugh Jackman to put on the claws once more, with the actor suiting up as Wolverine for the first time since 2017's "Logan." The resulting film is director Shawn Levy's "Deadpool & Wolverine," which figures to be one of the biggest movies of the summer. However, arriving at the story at the center of this superhero blockbuster was no small task, as it turns out.
In a new interview with Empire, it's explained that Reynolds first pitched a "'Rashomon' story about Wolverine and Deadpool and something that they got into together,...

The Dark Knight trilogy is one of the finest superhero franchises out there, and while The Dark Knight Rises did close the book on Christian Bale’s Batman, screenwriter Jonathan Nolan would eagerly return for more.
Jonathan Nolan, who co-wrote both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, was asked by Showsha if he’d like to return to the Batman franchise. “Wouldn’t that be a dream?” Nolan said. “That period was 10 years of my life [from] when I got the call to work on Batman Begins, and it was epic. Working with Christian [Bale], Heath [Ledger], Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and to honor an American icon. If I had the chance to go back and work on that again? Absolutely.“
Getting that bang back together would be a tall order, as Nolan admitted, “We’ve moved onto other things,” and “other people have picked up the mantel and moved on with those characters.

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is undoubtedly one of 2023’s biggest hits, being his highest-grossing film outside of his Batman films. In classic Nolan fashion, the film boasted an impressive ensemble led by Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon. In addition to being a big box office hit, Murphy and Downey Jr. won Oscars for their roles in the film.

The film’s success further catapulted Nolan’s position in the industry, arguably making him the best modern director of our time. Jonathan Nolan wrote The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises alongside his brother (after contributing to Batman Begins), filmmaker Christopher Nolan, and he's since shifted focus to small screen projects like Westworld and Fallout.
Christopher has said on multiple occasions that he's done with Batman, while Christian Bale has vowed to only return if the director does. As a result, we've come to accept this trilogy ended in 2012 and will be left alone.
However, in a new interview, Jonathan has made it clear he'd be open to returning to the Caped Crusader's world...even if his brother would take some convincing.

It’s been a phase to forget for superhero movies across the board. DC Extended Universe could not sustain itself, drawing the franchise to an early end. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going through a lean patch that they don’t have any idea how to deal with.
Some call it superhero fatigue, some lousy writing. The real answer might be a cocktail of both extremes. But in this dry run for superhero flicks, the aficionados of the genre have something to be elated about – the Dark Knight universe might be set to make a comeback.

The Dark Knight trilogy, directed by Oscar-winner Christopher Nolan, is considered one of the best superhero franchises out there. Starring Christian Bale in the lead as Bruce Wayne/Batman, the movies went on to become hugely successful and even got a posthumous Oscar win for actor Heath Ledger, who played Joker in the second movie.

But nothing is ever perfect, and the trilogy is no exception. At the end of the third movie, which saw the showdown between Batman and his nemesis, Bane, played by Tom Hardy, there were some discrepancies. Marion Cotillard played the role of Talia al-Ghul, the daughter of Ras al-Ghul, who comes to Gotham for revenge as Batman killed her father. As far as comic book adaptations go, most objective commentators and critics will agree that there is nothing better, overall than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which adapted the character of Batman and his world. Starring Christian Bale in the main role, the trilogy is lauded by critics and fans as well for having elevated the comic book movie to a completely new level, combining the fantasy of these worlds with the realism of our own world in the best way possible. While Christopher Nolan is seen as the forerunner of original ideas in Hollywood with films such as Tenet and Inception, the filmmaker once redefined the superhero genre with his The Dark Knight trilogy. The films saw Christian Bale as Batman and depicted a realistic version of Gotham and the Caped Crusader, and dealt with philosophical and real-world issues such as the nature of violence and the right to privacy.
While The Dark Knight trilogy is often placed among the greatest superhero films ever made, Nolan reportedly also had a hand in making one of the most underrated animated Batman movies. At long last, Eddie Murphy is reprising his role as street-smart cop Axel Foley in the fourth instalment of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise, which is set to hit Netflix this summer. But, it isn’t easy being a middle aged action star. It’s been nearly thirty years since we last saw Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, and in a recent interview with People Magazine he admitted that the shoot was a “rough one”.“I did Axel Foley when I was in my 20s. I am not in my 20s anymore,” he said. At any rate, Murphy won’t be the only aged actor from the original to show up, with many of the classic Beverly Hills Cop cast members are set to join him in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Here’s everything we know about Beverly Hills Cop 4!

"Anyone But You" became a surprise hit when it arrived in theaters back in December 2023. In an age where everyone is used to superhero movies and the odd horror flick doing well at the box office, surely a rom-com starring two lesser-known stars whose careers are only just starting to get going wasn't going to hit? But hit, it did. "Anyone But You" passed box office milestones, making an impressive $216 million worldwide on just a $25 million budget. Oh, and it was also based on a William Shakespeare play.
It might seem strange to think that a loose adaptation of the Bard's "Much Ado About Nothing," could be so surprisingly popular, but perhaps "Anyone But You" is ushering in a new era of cool Shakespeare adaptations, á la Leonardo DiCaprio with "Romeo + Juliet" back in the mid-'90s. Either way, the film's success certainly went a long way to...

Christopher Nolan’s movies are always known for having deeper meanings that force people to completely submerge into the artwork. But rarely does it ever make headlines for its political connections, like that of The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Often labeled as a right-wing film due to specific reasons, Nolan addressed fans’ comments.

Fans speculated that there was tension between Tom Hardy and Shia Labeouf during the filming of Lawless, a sentiment echoed by the director who sensed something was off. However, despite these rumors, the 2012 film was a success and received strong reviews. Years later, in a 2019 interview with Sean Evans, while munching down some pretty hot wings, Shia Labeouf finally revealed the truth about what happened behind the scenes. Tom Hardy’s sweet words towards his co-star also squashed the beef even further.

When was the last time a simple compliment had the power to totally change your day? Have you ever been in a state of self-doubt, only to be lifted by the unexpected kindness of co-workers? That is exactly the touching story Anne Hathaway told about her time on the set of Gary Ross’ Ocean’s 8, a film about a group of female thieves.
It would seem that the glamour of the A-list cast, which featured Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, and Rihanna, would eclipse one’s own insecurities. However, Hathaway’s candid recounting of the ‘comments’ when she was feeling insecure about her weight speaks volumes about the supportive spirit among these leading ladies.

When Christopher Nolan Revealed That Tom Hardy Based His Menacing ‘Bane’ On The Dark Knight Rises Maker ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
People wait eagerly for any and every Christopher Nolan movie, and his Batman movies starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne are still considered one of the best comic book films ever. It gave us the classic villain in Heath Ledger’s Joker, and Tom Hardy as Bane was also quite memorable. Hardy did an exceptional job as the anti-hero in The Dark Knight Rises. But did you know it was the film’s director on whom Hardy based his menacing character?
It was the last movie in Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy and came out around four years after the release of 2008’s The Dark Knight. The movie had an ensemble cast of Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Morgan Freeman, besides Bale and Hardy.

1986's "Top Gun" decidedly propelled Tom Cruise toward stardom, while the actor had already made his mark with "Risky Business" and "The Color of Money," two films that helped underline his dynamic range as a performer before his rise to fame. From this point on, Cruise would go on to star in a string of projects that cemented his superstar status, but like any performer, a few films failed to impress audiences and critics for many reasons. No, I am not talking about the disastrous "The Mummy" — the first and final entry in the doomed Dark Universe — but the lowest-rated Tom Cruise film, at least according to Rotten Tomatoes. I'm talking about Roger Donaldson's 1988 film about making drinks and money: "Cocktail," which currently sports an abysmal 9% on Rotten Tomatoes.
There is good reason for this overwhelmingly negative consensus, as "Cocktail" feels like an unsavory product of its time, what...

The ultra-charming and very handsome actor Glen Powell is having quite a run right now, but my dude is far from an overnight success. His first role was as "Long-fingered Boy" in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 3" more than 20 years ago, and since then, he's been steadily building his way to stardom. Small roles in "The Great Debaters," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "The Expendables 3" laid the groundwork for his star-making, charisma-filled performance in 2016's "Everybody Wants Some!!" In 2018, he helped resurrect the rom-com with the one-two punch of Netflix films "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" (a delightful and underrated gem) and the more popular "Set It Up" opposite Zoey Deutch, which launched him to Internet Boyfriend status.

Leonardo DiCaprio may keep his distance from the superhero genre today, but he was the studios’ favorite in playing some crucial Cbm characters. At the start of his career, he was offered the role of Robin in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever. During the Dark Knight trilogy, Warner Bros. wanted Christopher Nolan to make The Riddler as the central villain in the third film. They wanted Nolan to bring DiCaprio on board the film for the same.

The past year has been a major one for Christopher Nolan. The popularity of the director’s historical epic, Oppenheimer, blew up in a major way (pun intended). Not only did it have the strength of Nolan’s reputation, but the seemingly unintentional scheduling that paired its release with another anticipated summer film, Barbie, created a whole other level of recognition for it. Then, the film would achieve an amazing feat for Nolan where it would sweep a number of categories at this year’s Academy Awards.

Sound might be instant death in the world of "A Quiet Place," but that's not stopping Paramount Pictures from making some noise with the newest installment of this unexpectedly successful franchise. First kicked off by director and star John Krasinski in 2018, the high-concept genre movie instantly stood out as an original, well-crafted, and thoroughly engrossing experience at the theater. And since anything done well these days is apparently always worth doing twice, if not more, that effort led to a sequel just two years later. Now, we're on the cusp of a prequel movie that aims to turn back the clock all the way to ground zero of the alien invasion with "A Quiet Place: Day One."
So how long has this film been in the works? Well, let's put it this way: this week's CinemaCon held in Las Vegas has been expected to debut new footage of the origin story,...

Jonathan Nolan revealed that he wasn’t initially completely sold on the idea of Bane being the villain in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

“We had these conversations,” Jonathan said. “Bane came out of a conversation with David [Goyer] and Chris. I was unsure about that at the story stage, but I [didn’t want it to be] back seat driving. Chris understood that what we had done and what Heath [Ledger] had done with [Joker] — you didn’t want to go anywhere near it.”

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire sees an increase in collections, hits 3 crores mark again on Tuesday. (Photo Credit – Instagram)
After bringing in 2.25 crores on Monday, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire continued to do even better on Tuesday as collections moved up to 3.30 crores. Since it was a partial holiday in some parts of the country, the collections went on an upswing. It’s good that the film has so far managed to stay so good on the weekdays, though it would be interesting to see how it manages to have a similar run from today onwards. Reason being that at IMAX, Maidaan paid previews would be held today and then from tomorrow, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will join in.
In fact it’s surprising that so far advance booking plans at these premium screens hasn’t opened for either of these three films and seems like the battle of showcasing is currently on.

The annals of unmade Christopher Nolan films are not particularly long. Perhaps one of the legendary projects mentioned in the past was Nolan’s unrealized Howard Hughes project—some brief elements of which he folded into Bruce Wayne’s recluse period in “The Dark Knight Rises.” There was also, at one point in the past, Nolan’s intentions of remaking the surreal 1960s TV series, “The Prisoner,” created by and starring Patrick McGoohan (which is loosely rumored to be among the next projects he is thinking about making post “Oppenheimer”).
