By the time episode 4 rolled in it simply has been the best one yet. Loved it.

Billy has been emasculated by work he did 25 years ago. Being an honorable man, he negates previous settlement, but according to his employers, he has no right to do so. So he is fired and walks away. But soon there is a new person from the past. I'm still not sure that I follow all he implications, other than the fact that big money is being made and deaths are piling up.
Four Episodes and Still Hasn't (Really) Started

This season is strange. While Goliath has good and not-as-good seasons this one is... well it's the slowest by far, and probably for intentional reasons being one of those enigmatic last-name spouting neo noir investigative mind-journeys that began with the previous season's surreal nature, and here Billy's gunshot injury provides a reason for all the dream sequences; but there are so many here it's hard for the viewer to distinguish reality from surreality, and, anyhow, this might be better after it's all over and then re-binged (like Seasons 2 and 3) but so far it's the weakest, and sadly the last.
BTW All painkillers are addictive, and all pharmacy companies know that because opium is addictive from the get-go. It doesn't start being addictive during a patient's addiction just like a train starts rolling again after you hop on board......... It was rolling before.
