Episode 8 finally see's the focus turn squarely on Effy, now a bit of mess. The person she really wants has found someone else, Katie has replaced her as the dominant girl of the group. It's now Katie who looks the best, makes plans for the group and likes to be the one calling the shots. By this point the season has clearly turned from summer to autumn and a camping trip to the woods gets really out of control. If you compare this with the road trip from season 2 the colour palette is much cooler and desaturated. There's a touch of a horror feel to it at points too, a scary early encounter with another group unsettles our young gang. The amount of simmering tension between members in the group is also about to reach boiling point. Few characters now feel friendly towards Cook, Effy and Katie fight for Freddie's attention, Pandora is keeping a secret from Thomas and Emily and Naomi's relationship is still a secret. As day turns to night things get even worse. Only JJ and Katie stay off the magic mushrooms. Freddie and Effy finally get together, but this is also Effy at her most vulnerable, distraught at the thought she could have killed someone, distraught she's going to be despised by everyone when the truth comes out. In the end it's only Cook who's willing to stand by her. It's interesting we see her at her most empty and vulnerable at the start, then she puts on her makeup like it's armour, acts all tough and unemotional but at the very end breaks down again. Very well written.

Just amazing ! i'm not a big review writer, i'm just here to say that 8.2/10 isn't enough to this outstanding episode <3 So i came here to increase the note ! :p 10/10 Effy, love you forever. oh, my god, now they tell me the minimum is 10 lines ...Here we go. I liked every inch of this episode, it's from far the best of the series. The plot was extraordinary and the characters were brilliant. I like the thriller- like filming, gives something really inovating and original to the episode, and the story was fantastic. I have nothing more to add to that except that this show is the best i've ever seen in my life, and i recommend it to eeverryone ! :) <3

Effy bounces on top of Cook without any reaction. Just her usual straight face, emotionless. Cook comes with pleasure. Effy falls next to him with her arms crossed. Cook dresses and watches Effy's back as she puts on her top. Cook just gets up and says see you later.

Effy is in towels after taking a shower and looks at Freddie's contact on her phone.

Effy goes over to Freddie's who is kissing Katie. Katie asks Effy to drive them to some place in the forest.

The whole gang is in the car to go to this party in the forest except Cook who has been left out. Freddie gives a kiss in the car to Katie and this tenses Effy. They stop at a gas station to ask for directions. One of the twins is blocked from the doorway inside the store and the man looks like he has harassment intentions. The other man pulls out a long gun.

They go down a trail but then they freak out when they see the men following them.

At the campfire Effy's eye makeup is stunning!!! *Eye makeup inspiration* - blue bottom liner, white middle shadow and darker shadows around.

Gunshots are heard and their packs stolen. Then Cook is revealed who laughs at their frightened faces. Cook laughs when he figures out secrets are still hidden. He says Effy likes Freddie and he has been sleeping with Thomas's gf, Pandora.

Effy and Freddie have a hot kiss. They take off their tops and Freddie has his hand on the small of her back.

The next morning the sunshine looks pretty and the tents are on the right. In one tent Naomi and the lesbian twin leave the tent. JJ comes out and comments on being in a tent with two girls and how they like to wiggle a lot.

Effy and Freddie are holding hands and walking to the tents. They realize one twin is missing but cannot find her. Effy freaks out worrying she may have murdered the twin by accident with that rock.

Freddie is angry that Effy didn't tell them earlier on that she hit her with the rock.

Effy is in a car with Cook and he tells her it will always be the two of them.
