An interesting start.

An ordinary British family travel to Turkey, their holiday is ruined when the son is accused of sexual assault.

It's a good start, it's a very unusual plot, it's a bit different, and features a really good cast. I love how they managed to assemble a very ordinary feeling family.

Sheridan Smith, she's in yet another drama, she must have had an incredibly busy year last year filming this, The Teacher and Four Lives, no wonder, she's great, pretty good here once again.

If you've ever been to Turkey, and seen The Polis at work, you'll understand that they're nothing like the British Police, they really do not mess around at all.

The Solicitor, he's a definitely interesting character.

Good start, 7/10.

Episode 1

Ever since Midnight Express. Writers and filmmakers have been fascinated by the Turkish criminal system, especially its prisons.

No Return continues the trend. Sheridan Smith is Kathy, the matriarch of a family from Manchester on a beach holiday to Turkey.

It turns to a disaster. Noah their 16 year old son is arrested for sexual assaulting a slightly younger boy at a beach party.

Bewildered they get a flash criminal lawyer Rico but discover that the police are adamant that Noah was the predator and want to file charges.

At the hotel resort there is a freelance journalist from Britain sho smells a juicy story. The rest of the family are upset that their holiday has been ruined.

Meanwhile Kathy acts like a bull in a china shop despite husband Martin telling her to remain calm. Needing to do something she spits on the mother of a girl who accompanied Noah to the party. Then goes to the hotel of the boy who complained to the police, loudly shouting that he is a liar.

The first episode has very little to go on regarding the actions of Noah. There were bruises on his body before he went out. He was flirting with a girl at the hotel. The action takes place in the middle of the night when the police arrive at the hotel.

It really seems like a vehicle for Sheridan Smith. Everybody else is rather bland apart from Rico the lawyer who is just too unbelievable.

The trouble is Kathy going round angry, distraught and frustrated is a bit of a cliche. Her actions are more likely to send her son down for double the normal length.
