Hi-Fear is the final instalment of the trilogy that started in 2013 with Hi-8 and was followed in 2018 by Hi-Death. The biggest surprise about Shark Side of the Moon is that, in a genre that’s already seen Sharks of the Corn, Sharkula, Ouija Shark and even Shark Encounters of the Third Kind, it took so long for someone to use the title. What shouldn’t be so surprising is that it was The Asylum that did it and it makes its bow as a Tubi Original, part of Bitefest, the streaming service’s Shark Month.
During the Cold War, the Soviets were experimenting with human/shark hybrids at a launch facility. As is usually the case in these situations the experimental creatures got free. In a desperate bid to keep them from reaching the ocean, Sergey lured them onto a shuttle...

How can something look so corny and still enticing at the same time? Oh yes, that was a pun, a big pun. But looking at Sharks of the Corn, one should probably expect it since, well, look at the trailer if you need further explanation. It’s very easy to tell when shark week is about to hit since anything and everything shark-related starts getting a bigger push than usual for a while, and ideas like this get highlighted and praised when normally one might have to search around before running into them. Hello, everyone! We’ve got a bunch of new home media releases on tap today including a handful of classic films and some new genre offerings as well. Mvd is showing some love to The House on Sorority Row and Mortuary (1983) with Special Edition Blu-rays, and Cauldron Films is resurrecting The Crimes of the Black Cat and Beyond Terror in HD as well. As far as new horror goes, Arrow Films has put together a stellar home release for Threshold, Scream Factory is releasing Dark Spell on both formats, and if you haven't had a chance to check out A Nightmare Wakes yet, Rlje Films has you covered.
