- HookUp is a sci-fi take of a horror film about the worst case scenario with a dating site. Early in the movie the viewer learns that the dating site is not what it appears. Anyone who logs onto the dating site gets sucked into their computer by an alien known as Fred (played by Bam Rubenstein, best known for Welcome to Spring Break and Gonzo WBAPS). Fred has figured out a way to get into the computer and devour the humans he lures in from the dating site. Eventually, Fred learns how to con his love connections into meeting him in person, in real life. We see Fred meeting one at a local eatery. The audience is left to figure out what happens to the HookUp on their own. Finally we see the whole real time date from beginning to end with the final HookUp of the movie. This last HookUp is with Paolo (played by Rafiel Soto, best known for Aaron Albeit a Hero and Shadow Dragon). Paolo goes to Fred's apartment in a swanky section of Austin, Texas. But when Fred answers the door, completely naked, his eyes glowing, Paolo realizes something is wrong, curses at Fred, and makes a run for it. Fred chases after him through the apartment complex and through the parking lot. Eventually, Paolo gets to his car but drops his keys, fumbling to open it. Paolo finally gets the right key into the lock, opens the car door, jumps in, and closes the door behind him. Lo and behold, however, Fred is hiding in the back seat of the car. When Paolo looks in his rear view mirror, staring back at him are Fred's glowing eyes. The movie ends with the viewer easily imagining what happens to Paolo.
