- A doctor is rendering treatment for a boy showing symptoms after he was bitten by a bat. He's there because the doctors discovered that after he received serum BP296, and it also apparently killed his leukemia. Now the doctors are taking some of his white cells and are injecting them into an 80-year-old man with leukemia, hoping it will cure the man as well. The man immediately starts bleeding from his mouth and nose.
The doctor in charge of the facility, Dr. Ethan Rogers, tells the testing doctor that the serum will change modern medicine. The testing doctor warns that all of the serum is gone, and Rogers figures whoever has the cure will cherish it.
Later, Rogers and two orderlies go to the cell of Aaron Hellzinger. When Rogers says that he doesn't have a fix, Aaron attacks all three of them. They subdue him and Rogers says that Aaron had a fit, and he's going to help Rogers and other similar patients get that cure.
Vesper is on the ratio saying that the new Batwoman appears to be sticking around.
Batwoman brings down two bank robbers with her rappel line, and knocks them out. Luke is monitoring her vitals via the sensors in the suit, and Batwoman tells him to stop interrupting her and let her do her job. After she takes down the two robbers, Batwoman rips off her masks and clutches at her chest wound.
Later, Angelique takes Ryan to the hospital but all of the doctors are busy and unavailable. Angelique actually grabs an orderly and implies that he's guilty of implicit bias. Once the orderly goes to get a doctor, Angelique sits down with Ryan, who thanks her lover for bringing her there.
Dr. Rafael Rodriguez arrives, introduces himself, and Ryan claims that a spider bit her. Rodriguez says that they'll inject her with antibiotics, and the infection should clear it up in 478 hours. Angelique points out that When Angelique objects, Rodriguez says that Ryan's insurance doesn't cover more extensive treatment. Angelique offers to cover the expense, and Rodriguez goes to have the blood work done.
Ryan notices Angelique checking her phone and comments on it. Angelique tells her to get out while she can, and Angelique says that she can't just get out given all the rich people and their secrets she knows. She kisses Ryan goodbye and leaves.
In an otherwise-empty subway train, Ocean tells Alice that he doesn't know anything about Kate or how she died. Ocean wonders why anyone would frame him for Kate's death, and starts to go. Alice asks him if it bothers him that they were on Coryana and both lost their memories. That doesn't Ocean, and Alice points out that Safiyah has an army of assassins to send after him. Ocean admits that he stained Safiyah's army, then got bored and tried to leave with one of the Desert Rose. Safiyah banished him, and he woke up in Gotham Harbor without the flower. Alice figures that they got caught together when they stole the flower, and Safiyah took all of their memories except of both.
The next day, Jacob drives Mary from the lawyer they visited. The lawyer is browbeating Jacob into having Kate declared so that the lawyer can collect part of his estate. Sophie calls Jacob and tells him that they've determined the Napier they obtained was a fake. However, they ID's the forger from a partial print, and the forger, Ocean, is somewhere in Gotham. Sophie asks for permission to use the high-frequency generator receive to track him down. Jacob agrees and hangs up.
As Mary asks what the receiver is, Hellinger drives a semi into Jacob's SUV, then gets out and carries away Mary.
Later at the bar, Sophie comes in and confronts Ryan. Sophie says that Angelique's name is connected to five snakebite cases, and is looking for her to learn Ocean's new location since he's Angelique's supplier. Sophie gives Ryan the receiver, saying it will turn Angelique's phone into a transmitter so they can monitor her calls. Ryan refuses to betray Angelique, even when Sophie threatens to put Angelique in jail for the crimes they have her on.
Ryan still refuses, and Sophie points out that Angelique let Ryan take the fall previously for her crimes. Sophie tells Ryan to do the right thing, and Ryan says that she'll get the information Sophie wants and then the file on Angelique disappears. Sophie warns that Ryan can't protect Angelique forever.
Mary wake up, tied to a chair and next to a tied-up Jacob in her clinic. Aaron comes in and says he's never taken anyone hostage before. He flies into a rage, and says that he has spontaneous rage issues. He wants the Hamilton antidote to the bat bites,. Mary tells him that there's none of the serum left yet, and he asks where she got it. Mary says that Alice gave it to her to cure her or her mother, and she had a transfusion and Alice stole a pint of the transfusion. Alice gave it back to Mary and said that it contained the Desert Rose and could cure the bat bites.
Jacob wonders why Mary didn't tell him, and Mary asks if he would have believed her. Aaron asks her to make more, and Mary tells him that it loses its potency after one generation. Aaron flies into another rage, and Mary tells Jacob that she's been practicing underground medicine for two years. The antidote came from Mary's clinic, and she admits that they're in her clinic.
At her apart, Ryan checks the wound. Angelique comes in and notices that Ryan kept the plant she gave her five years ago. Ryan says that she's hopeful and shows Angelique a t-shirt for the holdout and tells her that she can have a job there under Ryan's protection. The woman says that she lied and doesn't want out, and likes her job. Angelique tells Ryan that someone found her and she got a new life, but she didn't. Ryan points out that she went to prison for her, and then convulses in pain.
Ryan sends Angelique to get her medicine from the bathroom, and wonders what's happening to her. Her pain stops and Angelique's phone that she set down real. Ryan attaches the receiver to the phone, and Angelique comes in. She gives Ryan the medicine and says that she has to meet with some people. She gets her phone, unaware of the receiver nearby, and leaves.
Later at the Holdout, Ryan gives Sophie the receiver. Sophie asks Ryan why she's staying in the same situation she was before with Angelique, and Ryan tells her that she fights for someone she cares about. Sophie leaves, and Rodriguez calls Ryan and asks her to come in to provide another blood sample. He says that the first sample was apparently contaminated, and they're picking up traces of a radioactive contaminant.
At the clinic, Aaron tells Mary that she has to make more of the serum or Jacob dies. Mary insists that there is no antidote, and Aaron stabs Jacob in the side. Aaron then collapses, clutching at his head, and asks where Mary keeps the pain meds. She directs him to a cabin, and Jacob blames himself for not knowing he was blind to Mary's secret life. Mary tells him that all of his energy was focused on Kate or building the Crows, and now it's all about finding Kate. She tells Jacob that she's never been on Jacob's radar, and offers to tell Aaron about Coryana. Jacob tells her not to, saying that he can withstand torture.
Aaron comes back and notices his craniotomy scar. When Mary asks if he's trying to cure that, Aaron explains about how he has uncontrollable mood swings because of a defect in his amygdala. The doctors used UV light on him, and it cured him for a week until the cancer in his amygdala swelled up. He says that when it does, he has a bad moment.
Mary tells Aaron to stop, and Aaron tells them that he doesn't feel anything but angry. She tells him about Coryana, and Aaron asks who she can get there.
In the subway, Ocean wonders if Alice framed him for the theft of the Desert Rose. She takes his hand and says that they had a thing together on Coryana.
At the Batcave, Ryan checks the computer records and discovers that Kryptonite can penetrate the Batsuit. Luke comes in and Ryan tells him that Sophie came to her. He knows that the Napier was faked and Ocean made the forgery, and Sophie told him. Ryan figures that Luke betrayed her, and Luke says that Ocean is connected to Kate so they have to find her. He mentions that he talked to Alice, and didn't tell Ryan or the authorities. Luke says that Alice is there only way to Coryana. Mary calls Luke and tells him that she needs him to bring her the map to Coryana. She says that she and Jacob are at the clinic, and he should bring the map "like a bat out of hell".
Ryan and Luke figure that something is wrong, and as Ryan prepares to put on the Batsuit she collapses in pain. Luke goes to her and asks what is going on.
Ocean tells Alice that Coryana is remote and he wasn't desperate. Alice calls Safiyah's lieutenant and Safiyah answers. When Alice asks her what she did to, Safiyah says that she created a woman who could kill, Alice figures that Safiyah set her up to kill an old flame, and Safiyah says that she's happy to tell Alice all of the details about Alice's relationship with Ocean... if Alice wants. Alice hangs up.
Luke finds the Kryptonite wound and Ryan says that she thought she was fine. She says that Kryptonite kills slowly, and she spent all the time in the Batsuit acting fine so she wouldn't give Luke a reason to doubt her. When Luke hesitates, Ryan tells him to have her back for once.
Alice draws her knife and attacks Ocean. He avoids her thrust and tells her that she's an idiot, and they remember sparring on Coryana. She remembers ocean saying that Safiyah will like her, and that he wants to escape with her When Alice snaps out of it, Ocean tells her that he had the same memories and things are getting complicated.
Sophie comes in and trains her gun on them, and says that she's there for Ocean. She introduces herself and asks where the Napier painting is that he made a forgery from. Ocean says that she doesn't know what he's talking about, and Sophie threatens to call in Crow agents. Alice tells Ocean not to, and Sophie fires a warning shot. Ocean takes the map out of hiding and holds it up.
Sophie calls once she has a map, and Luke tells her that she needs to go to the clinic and save Mary and Jacob from Aaron. Ryan overhears Luke talking to Sophie, and says that she needs to get to Coryana and get the Desert Rose to cure her own wound... and she's not going to leave the cure in Sophie's hands. Luke tells Ryan that the suit can administer a single shot of adrenaline, and she let him know when she needs it so he can trigger it remotely.
At the clinic, Aaron flies into another rage. He says that Hamilton doctors "treated" him, in secret. Jacob tells Mary that he didn't know it was happening, and Aaron prepares to kill him. Sophie comes and Aaron attacks her, while Mary kicks the knife Aaron used over to Jacob. Mary tells Aaron to stop, and he goes over to strangle her. Jacob frees himself and attacks Aaron, and when he subdues, Batwoman arrives and knocks Aaron down.
Batwoman tells Jacob to get Mary out, and promises that she'll protect Sophie. Jacob takes Mary out, and Aaron attacks Batwoman, knocking her to the floor. She tells Luke over the comm to give her the adrenaline, and she knocks out Aaron. Two masked men arrive and train a gun on Sophie, and tell Batwoman to hand over the map or he'll kill Sophie. Batwoman hands over the map, refusing to let Sophie die, and the men leave with the map.
Later, Mary meets with Luke in the Wayne Enterprises office. Mary says that she was treating Ryan, and Luke tells her that the meds aren't working. Her prolonged exposure to the Kryptonite is lethal, and they'll never get to Coryana. Luke points out that Ryan has been acting the part of the hero while she's been dying of radiation poisoning, and he and Mary both vow to find Coryana. Mary figures that they can turn to Jacob for help.
That night, Mary goes to see Jacob in his office. He says that she's shutting down the clinic because it's illegal, and Mary says that she saved hundreds of people that couldn't get legal help. Jacob points out that his wife was doing human experiments, and Mary is doing the same thing because she's not licensed. Mary snaps at him, asking if that's what it means to him to be a father to take away from her the one thing that matters, and storms out.
At her desk, Sophie monitors Ryan and Angelique talking, over Angelique's phone. Angelique knows about the receiver, and asks if Ryan betrayed her. Ryan says that she didn't have a choice, and Angelique would be in a cell if she hadn't cooperated. Angelique wonders if the place is bugged, and Ryan denies it and says that Angelique is the only that knows her. Her lover says that Ryan should have thought of that before she ratted her out, and leaves.
In the subway, Alice stabs Ocean and then calls Safiyah. She says that Safiyah was right and the less she knew, the better. Alice tells Safiyah to send her lieutenant to come and get Ocean's body. Once she hangs up, the real Ocean walks in and Alice isn't surprised to see him.
