THE BEST HSMTMTS EP YET?
agentsofsword18 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
HELLO? THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST HSMTMTS EPISODE YET??

They finally dig deep into their characters and THAT'S GREAT.

Spoilers

I love the character development of Gina and the development of Gina and Ashlyn's friendship.

Ricky is being unlikable rn he made his father lose his relationship one thing that keeps him happy. Dude grow up not everything is about you

I love that idea of Nini and Ricky fighting because it develops Nini's character more and I love the song she sang and wrote at the end of the ep.

Another banger song from her, I love the North High competition i can't wait how that unfolds in the next episodes.

I keep saying i love how but there's just a lot to love about this show i love the diversity and can't wait when they add an asian character.

L'M HAPPY FOR COURTNEY!!

EASILY the best HSMTMTS episode so far. Warning: Spoilers
I am BLOWN AWAY. This episode took me two hours to get through because I kept rewinding almost every scene.

Sofia Wylie deserves serious props for her performance in this episode- she did an absolutely incredible job of breathing some dimension into her character in a way that truly convinced the audience that Gina was human, in the most important sense.

Joshua Bassett's realistic transformation of his character from sweet and likable to angry and jarring was an extremely welcome change. He truly captured the reality of a teen enduring a messy divorce for the first time since the show has been airing. Bassett made the audience feel just as betrayed and taken aback as his character's friends and family felt in the show.

Julia Lester's "Home" was one scene which I wound back multiple times. Her stunning technique and impressive range combined with her raw emotion truly made this song a showstopper.

Olivia Rodrigo has impressed us before with her abilities and she certainly did not disappoint. "The Rose Song" was beautifully emotional and revealed a new side to her character that will surely be an interesting dynamic to explore.

Finally, the last scene of this episode was a surprising twist- one that not only launches the storyline forward, but also gives yet another new side to Frankie Rodriguez's Carlos that leaves the audience feeling worried in the best of ways.

In conclusion, this episode of High School Musical The Musical The Series brought a new light to many of its characters. The songs were the best yet of this season, bringing new emotional insight and perspective. The comedic timing of the actors, as well as their actual acting, has noticeably improved, and although the episode did contain its cringeworthy scenes, this show wouldn't have the same charm without them. I am greatly looking forward for what is to come next.
