Spina Bifida is a genetic birth defect that ranges from minimal to severe. The mildest form is called Spina Bifida Occulta. In most cases, Spina Bifida Occulta is typically not diagnosed until later into childhood or event adulthood and typically only after other, unrelated medical issues arise. About 10% of adults have SBO and have no issues.
