Really, really weird....in a good way.

This cartoon is certainly NOT for everyone as I am sure that many will watch it and wonder if the film maker is sane. Well, if it's true and results in a film like this one, that's not all that bad! It's a truly weird and twisted little film that obviously does not come from a "normal" person--and we could probably use a few more people like this in this world.

The film, not surprisingly, is about a dentist. However, the whole thing is very surreal and is almost impossible to describe. Sure, I could talk about the style of the drawings and the music that seem perhaps French, but the essence of the film goes beyond words. When an odd man comes into the dentist's office, what happens next is just too weird--from what is in the guy's mouth to how he pays for the visit. It's all very, very unexpected yet enjoyable throughout. Just see it for yourself to get an idea of what this film is.

Put a smile on my face Warning: Spoilers
I feel I should have seen this before seeing its spin-off "Five Infomercials for Dentists". Had no idea the whole short was already available here on imdb.

Of all the animations from Signe Baumane I have seen so far, this is the best one by far, and also the funniest.

There is a clear Bill Plympton influence here, with its mixture of black comedy and bizarre cartoonish gags that would be impossible to reproduce in live-action.

The result is very amusing to watch.

I have nothing else to say, but thanks to the six-thousand characters rule per review enforced by the internet movie database, this filler paragraph must be included.

8/10.
