Big news just dropped over at Vanity Fair: a first look at a character set to appear in The Rings of Power season 2 who has to date only made it into a few older radio versions, games, and foreign-language adaptations of The Lord of the Rings—Tom Bombadil, played by Rory Kinnear. Tom’s first live-action appearance is obviously a huge deal for The Rings of Power season 2 and Lord of the Rings fandom as a whole, especially because Peter Jackson chose to not include the beloved Tolkien character in his film trilogy, but how will he fit into the story of the Second Age of Middle-earth?
What Is Tom Bombadil’s Role in The Lord of the Rings and Why Isn’t He in the Movies?
On the page, Tom Bombadil appears early on in The Fellowship of the Ring, rescuing the four hobbits Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin...

While Bridgerton is first and foremost a love story, the relationship between the siblings and their mother plays a very important role in each season. And although viewers have only seen the first 4 episodes of season 3, it is already apparent that the family bond plays a major role in the way each Bridgerton views the world.
Two characters who offer the most support and parental advice are Violet Bridgerton, the matriarch of the family, and her older son Anthony, who had to step into the role of viscount and find the strength to raise his siblings at the age of 18. However, there was another sibling who could have provided a lot of insight throughout the series, but has yet to appear.
Daphne Bridgerton, who is missing from season 3, is one of the show's weakest links.
Will Daphne Be Back for Bridgerton Season 3?

Jo Hartley and Rory Kinnear are back for Bank Of Dave 2, currently entitled Bank Of Dave: The Sequel. More here.
Released on Netflix early in 2023 was the very British tale, Bank Of Dave. Starring Rory Kinnear and Jo Hartley, it told the real-life story of a man called Dave (you might have guessed that), who set up a community bank to help small, local businesses (you could probably have guessed that too).
Set in Burnley, and with a good dose of Burnley Football Club included, Bank Of Dave was directed by Chris Foggins, and now he’s set to make a follow-up. Entitled Bank Of Dave: The Sequel, Foggins will once again be director, with Rory Kinnear and Jo Hartley reprising their roles.
This time, the foe of the piece will be payday loan companies, an easy to hate villain. New recruit to the ensemble Chrissy Metz will play an...

When you look at his body of work, it’s hard to believe Rory Kinnear is only 44: the man’s covered a hell of a lot of ground. He’s earned his place as a household name with roles like Tanner – M’s efficient Chief of Staff in several Bond films including Skyfall – and Detective Nock in Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game, but while many actors would be rightly chuffed to bag these roles, they’re merely the tip of Kinnear’s acting iceberg.
Few actors, for instance, can claim to be responsible for a scene that has been burned onto our retinas, never to be forgotten, no matter how hard we try. For Rory Kinnear, that scene is in Black Mirror episode ‘The National Anthem’, the very first instalment of this disturbing dystopian anthology series, where he plays a Prime Minister forced into doing the dirty...

That ’90s Show, a spin-off of the popular throwback sitcom That ’70s Show, made its debut on Netflix last week – but fans have one big complaint.
Starring Callie Haverda, Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, the series is set 15 years after That ’70s Show, and sees some of the original cast return to make cameos.
That ’70s Show originally aired on Fox between 1998 and 2006. The series experienced a resurgence in popularity in the 2010s after it was made available to stream in its entirety on Netflix.
However, the series was removed from Netflix’s catalogue in 2020 – a move that has drawn the ire of fans after the streaming service released its sequel.
“Why would Netflix produce That 90s Show but not have That 70s Show available,” one person wrote. “That’s so stupid.”
“Wait… lmao you’re telling me Netflix doesn’t have That 70s Show on their platform while airing That 90s Show?...

This! Is! Oversharing! Full disclosure, folks — this week's Empire Podcast features the return of one of our favourite interviewees, Gerry 'Gerard' Butler, as he and his Plane co-star Mike Colter sit down on Zoom with our Chris Hewitt. And while it's as fun and giggle-tactic as any of Butler's appearances on the pod, we should warn you that a lot of it revolves around a story that Chris shares with the duo right at the beginning. And that story is a load of old poop. You have been warned.
Elsewhere, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara and James Dyer for another fun and frank exchange of film-related views, in which they bang on about the books and games they'd love to see turned into films, discuss (most of) the week's movie news (this was recorded before the BAFTA nominations were announced), and review The Estate, Alice, Darling,...

It’s not surprising that Bank of Dave – Netflix’s latest film, based on the heartwarming true story of Burnley businessman Dave Fishwick trying to open a community bank – has captured people’s attention. The real man himself delightedly shared the news it was number one in Netflix UK’s Top 10 Films soon after its release:

Indeed, Burnley businessman Dave Fishwick is as real as they come, a joyful, larger-than-life character that – judging from his social media and recent TV appearances – is accurately captured by Rory Kinnear (Our Flag Means Death), who plays him in the film.
Also undeniably real is the huge amount of good he has done for his local community, lending over £30 million to people in need and donating all the profits to charity.

Mickey Rourke has spoken out in defence of Alec Baldwin, saying there is “no way in hell” he should face charges over the death of Halyna Hutchins.
On Thursday (19 January), Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting of Hutchins, a cinematographer, on the set of the Western movie Rust in October 2021.
The 64-year-old actor is one of three people facing charges over the accidental shooting, alongide first assistant director David Halls and armourer Hannah Gutierrez Reed.
Halls has agreed to plead guilty to the charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon.
Each charge carries a punishment of up to 18 months in prison. In a statement to The Independent Baldwin’s attorney Luke Nikas described the charges as a “terrible miscarriage of justice”.
Responding to the news on Instagram, Rourke wrote: “I usually never put my two cents in about what happens on someone’s movie set.

Hugh Bonneville plays a villain in the film, an upper-crust banker standing in the way of Dave’s attempts to create the community bank.
Jo Hartley, Joel Fry and Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor also star.
Bank of Dave features a number of cameos, including the real Fishwick, the rock band Def Leppard, and Burnley’s former football team manager Sean Dyche.
