Should Zac Efron be allowed into the MCU? Yes, absolutely, without question. Should he be limited to a single role that people want to see him in? That’s a good question, since there are a few different characters he might be able to portray convincingly, and Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, is only one of them. He’s proven that he can get jacked for a role, which means that maybe the role of Logan could be possible. A Weapon X appearance and storyline, one that doesn’t jump around so much and doesn’t feature a discount version of Deadpool might

Exclusive: After working with big-name directors like Denis Villeneuve and Rian Johnson, Dave Bautista has found his next A-list director to work as the Dune actor is in negotiations to star in M. Night Shyamalan’s new top secret pic Knock at the Cabin. Shyamalan will write and direct, and also produce with Ashwin Rajan under the filmmaker’s Blinding Edge Pictures banner alongside Marc Bienstock and Steven Schneider.
Universal recently dated the film to bow on February 3, 2023.
While his most recent film, Old, involved a large ensemble, Shyamalan has always like to have one or two big movie stars anchoring his films — like Bruce Willis, Mark Wahlberg and James McAvoy — and given his track record of great scripts stars are always lining up. Bautista was quick to jump at the opportunity to work with the Oscar-nominated director.

Guns firing, blood flying, goons dying, and an unlikely hero quipping before bringing down the big bad. Just your standard action movie, right? Now replace the blaring guitar or thunderous orchestra with “Jingle Bell Rock,” “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” and “The First Noel.” Wait… is this a holiday movie or Lethal Weapon?
Every year, the debate rages on. Bruce Willis, spraying machine gun fire. Hans, nonplussed, killing the world’s worst yuppie scumbag Ellis. Al, the redeemed killer cop, gunning down Karl in a surprise display of heroics. Sure, John McTiernan, Jeb Stuart, and Steven E. de Souza’s Die Hard is a certified classic of the action genre, but is it really a Christmas movie? There are arguments for and against this, but for whatever reason, the controversy has coalesced around Die Hard and forgotten the real action movie that deserves to be in the Christmas canon, and...

Mel Gibson is stepping behind the camera once again, this time to direct the latest — and likely final — installment of the Warner Bros. action franchise Lethal Weapon.
The project was put in limbo when director Richard Donner, who’d helmed all the Weapon movies since their inception in 1987, died in July. Donner, at 91, was working on mounting the fifth installment, which has been in development on and off for years, with screenwriters coming and going. Richard Wenk, who wrote the Denzel Washington-starring Equalizer thrillers, wrote the latest draft.

For actor Zac Garred, starring in the long-awaited and much-delayed Australian Gangster was like “going to a really cool party and not being able to tell anyone about it”.
The Roadshow Rough Diamond series, written and directed by Gregor Jordan, premieres tonight on the Seven Network some three years after it was shot, with delays due to legal reasons.
Inspired by true events, Alexander Bertrand leads the show as Pasquale “Pas” Barbaro, who grew up in an organised crime family. He is released from jail, but not before making an enemy of fellow inmate and Brothers For Life member, Mohammed “Little Crazy” Hamzy (Rahel Romahn).
The newly-freed Barbaro is not concerned about playing it safe or hiding in the shadows. He is, however, concerned about looking good on Instagram.

The Hellfire Gala comes to the pages of Wolverine… and it’s not an easy read! Since X-Men relaunched under the guidance of Hickman I have been trying to stay in touch with all the goings on via reviews and news articles. When the new X-Men team and the winner of the vote came out online before the issues were released I kind of lost interest. Bascially all of this lead to this particular issue being a continuity minefield to navigate. This issue has the feel that the reader is just dropping in to briefly witness 3/4 different plot points that then continue elsewhere. It is everything I was expecting previously with regards to X-Force crossover, with Percy penning both titles. Think of it as X-Force filler more than a solo Wolverine story. Maybe I...

Richard Donner will forever be remembered as the filmmaker who created the blueprint for the modern superhero blockbuster with 1978’s Superman starring Christopher Reeve.
Yet that doesn’t tell even half the story of the Bronx-born filmmaker’s brilliant filmography.
Donner was in his late 40s by the time Superman came along, having made a name for himself in Hollywood two years earlier, with 1976’s suitably terrifying The Omen.
Prior to that, he was a budding director making the transition from the small screen to the world of cinema. Donner worked on everything from Gilligan’s Island to The Twilight Zone. Even then, it was clear he was destined for bigger things though, as anyone who saw “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet”, the iconic episode of The Twilight Zone he directed, starring William Shatner, can attest.
While a disagreement with producers ultimately saw him walk away from Superman II, the 1980s...

Jeff Cohen first met Richard Donner while making “The Goonies,” the 1985 adventure classic about a group of misfit kids hunting for treasure. Cohen played Chunk, a mischevious preteen who loves ice cream and prank calls. Decades later, he credits Donner with coaxing out his performance, but Cohen owes more to the late director than a memorable role in an iconic film. Donner and his wife, Lauren Shuler Donner, paid his college tuition and provided a critical source of emotional and financial support when he needed it the most.
Cohen is now a prominent entertainment attorney and the co-founder of the Cohen & Gardner firm in Beverly Hills. Donner died Monday in Los Angeles at age 91. In addition to “Goonies,” his credits include “Superman,” “The Omen,” “Scrooged,” and the Lethal Weapon series. Following the news of legendary director Richard Donner’s death, heartfelt tributes are emerging from all over Hollywood, including from Steven Spielberg, Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
Donner, who directed the original “Superman” film, the 1985 classic “The Goonies” and the “Lethal Weapon” series, died on Monday at the age of 91.
Fellow director Spielberg, who wrote the story for “The Goonies,” remembered Donner in a statement to Variety.
“Dick had such a powerful command of his movies, and was so gifted across so many genres. Being in his circle was akin to hanging out with your favorite coach, smartest professor, fiercest motivator, most endearing friend, staunchest ally, and — of course — the greatest Goonie of all,” Spielberg said. “He was all kid. All heart. All the time. I can’t believe he’s gone, but his husky, hearty laugh will stay with me always.”

Mel Gibson was broken up by the passing Monday of longtime Lethal Weapon collaborator Richard Donner. They made four Lethal Weapon films together with Danny Glover, starting with the first in 1987 that made Gibson a superstar. The four films together grossed over $952 million, the last coming in 1998. Gibson and Donner also collaborated on Conspiracy Theory, in which Gibson starred with Julia Roberts, and Maverick, which Gibson starred in with Jodie Foster. That puts their total film collaborations well over $1 billion, and they were very close.
In a statement to Deadline, Gibson said, “Donner! My friend, my mentor. Oh, the things I learned from him! He undercut his own talent and greatness with a huge chunk of humility referring to himself as ‘merely a traffic cop.’ He left his ego at the door and required that of others. He was magnanimous of heart and soul, which he liberally gave to all who knew him.

Christmas movies are typically designed to instil warm and fuzzy feelings in the audience, and the plots are usually straightforward stories that deliver the requisite happy endings and see the characters rediscover the importance of their friends, families and loved ones, as well as their Christmas spirit.
However, there’s definitely a market for alternative festive films, one that’s been filled over the decades by action classic Die Hard, the anarchic Gremlins, Gothic superhero sequel Batman Returns, the foul-mouthed Bad Santa, the tongue in cheek horror of Krampus and virtually Shane Black’s entire filmography from Lethal Weapon and The Long Kiss Goodnight to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3.

Another Decade with Takashi Miike is a series of essays on the 2010s films of the Japanese maverick, following Notebook's earlier survey of Miike's first decade of the 21st century.Being in league with Takashi Miike, taking the sensually arrayed and flayed curtains of flesh in stride, has a way of making one think of Claude Rains in Lawrence of Arabia: “It is recognized that you have a funny sense of fun.” When you make it your life’s work to decorate the insides of cinemas with the exploits of desperate, subhuman Yakuza, your idea of the business of law enforcement and especially your idea of heroism are bound to be just as warped as your sense of "fun". Miike’s cop movies are few and far between—he doesn’t get cops and he doesn’t much like them. There’s something about lying to people about the...

There’s already been no shortage of rumors and theories about how Deadpool will eventually make his debut in the McU, but one thing most people would agree that they definitely don’t want to see is another origin story. After all, having made over $780 million at the box office, the majority of fans already saw it happen in Fox’s first installment, not to mention the fact that a self-aware character showing up in a new franchise at a different studio doesn’t really need one to justify his existence.
Of course, the McU has always been a staunchly family-friendly enterprise, so there could well be an entire generation of younger viewers who don’t know anything about Deadpool, and while the in-development threequel most likely won’t depict Wade Wilson’s full-blown origins again, we’re hearing that the studio could be retconning Weapon X to reveal a...

The prolonged gap between the third and fourth Phases of Marvel Cinematic Universe movies has left fans’ biggest questions unanswered. For instance, it’s been over a year since Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox and superhero diehards can still only speculate as to when they’ll see a new Deadpool film and how the Merc With a Mouth will fit into the comparatively kid-friendly McU.
While we sadly don’t have the privilege of knowing the answers to these questions ourselves, we can at least offer some information as to what’ll purportedly happen to Wade Wilson at some point down the road. And it’s something that should make comic book readers very happy.

Fox was raring to go with the next installment in the Deadpool franchise, but since Disney took over the rights to the Merc with a Mouth, things have slowed down. Marvel Studios has got to work out how to fit Wade Wilson into their ever-growing shared universe, which unfortunately means fans have to be patient. But is this the actual reason Deadpool 3 is taking so long? Maybe this is just what they want us to think.

Ever since Deadpool finally gave Ryan Reynolds a hit in the comic book genre at the fourth time of asking and became one of the most successful movies of his career in the process, the actor has stuck steadfastly to his motor-mouthed and sardonic screen persona. In fact, when Red Notice arrives on Netflix next year, it’ll mark the tenth movie in a row that requires him to deliver essentially the same performance.
The ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ approach that the 43 year-old has applied to his career in recent years could also apply to the Merc with a Mouth’s upcoming debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the previous two installments having earned over $1.5 billion at the box office, the foul-mouthed, fourth wall-breaking formula is a proven success, but there’s nonetheless been continued speculation that Marvel are getting cold feet over taking the plunge into R-rated territory.

Black Panther 2 is currently scheduled for release on May 6th, 2022. By that time, we should know how Marvel Studios are going to introduce the X-Men and Fantastic Four to the McU. All of which makes sense that we’re hearing that they’re lining up a major X-Men character to cameo in the sequel, one with a subtle but interesting connection to Wakanda.
I’m talking about Wolverine, of course. But how exactly would he factor into things? Well, according to sources close to Wgtc – the same ones who told us Han was returning in Fast & Furious 9 and Ahsoka Tano will make her live-action debut in The Mandalorian – his link to the country is his Adamantium skeleton. In the 616 Marvel Universe, Adamantium is a non-naturally occurring alloy that’s practically indestructible and Wolverine’s claws and bones are coated in it. And what’s an element...

Marvel may have resigned themselves to the fact that they won’t be able to convince Hugh Jackman to make a full-time return as Wolverine, with the actor frequently reiterating that his time playing the character is over while also lamenting the fact that he missed out on the opportunity to share the screen with some of the McU’s established heroes, but they haven’t entirely given up hope on him making a cameo appearance, either.
We recently reported that Jackman had declined the opportunity to grow out his sideburns and get jacked for Kevin Feige, but that he also wasn’t completely against the idea of showing up in the right project to give fans their wish to see the adamantium-infused mutant in the McU. Perhaps as an alternate version of the hero in the multiverse? Of course, most people have assumed that this would lead to a...

Advertisers and their ad agencies owe production and post-production companies more than $200 million for work on commercial shoots that were completed but not paid for when work abruptly halted because of the coronavirus shutdown, according to the Association of Independent Commercial Producers, a trade association that says its members account for 85% of all domestic commercials aired nationally on all media platforms.
The Aicp arrived at that figure after polling more than 500 of its members, 28% of whom reported that they were owed more than $1 million; 23% of whom said they were owed between $500,000-$1 million; and 34% saying they are owned between $100,000-$500,000. “Extrapolating across the industry, conservatively, this is well in excess of $200 million,” the Aicp said.

(Cbr) The "Kickboxer" remake just pulled in some next-level talent. Directed by "Tai Chi Zero‘s" Stephen Fung, the 3D action film has added Thai muay thai master Tony Jaa and British martial artist Scott Adkins, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jaa gained international fame after starring in "Ong-bak" and "The Protector." He took a break to become a Buddhist monk, but is back making films, including his first American feature performance in "Fast & Furious 7." Adkins has made a name for himself in the "Ninja" films, and appeared alongside original "Kickboxer" star Jean-Claude Van Damme in "The Expendables 2," "Assassination Games" and "Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning." “'Kickboxer' will display a style of acrobatic, rapid-fire martial arts action that Scott Adkins is increasingly becoming synonymous with,” producer Brian O’Shea said. “Along with Tony Jaa, 'Kickboxer' has compiled a talented cast to push the boundaries of the martial arts form.

The film also stars John Ralston, Charlotte Peters and Marsha Yuen. Action legend Jean Claude Van Damme has signed on to star as the lead role in director’s Ernie Barbarash latest movie “Pound Of Flesh”. They have worked together on two movies already, which are 6 Bullets and Assassination Games and the fight choreography will be done by John Salvitti (Flashpoint, Special ID).
Van Damme will portray a man who rescues a woman in distress one night, only to wake up the next morning in a blood-soaked hotel bathtub without a kidney.
“I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into Pound of Flesh because it’s exactly the kind of character-driven action thriller I and my fans love best — a movie that delivers nonstop hardcore action that’s fueled by a really surprising story and real people you care about from the moment you meet them on screen,” said Van Damme in a statement.

Jean-Claude Van Damme has had a quirky and fun career resurgence. Yeah, he’s found himself in a position to return to somewhat mainstream relevance since 2008′s Jcvd (which is all sorts of fun, and you should watch), and while he’s done so most notably in his role as Jean Vilain in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables 2, and a solid voice acting gig in Kung Fu Panda 2, Van Damme’s heart belongs to indies and direct to DVD actioners. With two new Universal Soldier flicks amongst that list of films, I’d say we should be pretty stoked about the state of his career. Next on the docket is Pound of Flesh, where Jcvd will portray a man who rescues a woman in distress, and wakes the next morning in a blood-filled hotel bathroom, sans kidney for his troubles. According to Van Damme, he’s gonna fight a lot of people over this, saying...

Vanessa is only one of the many loves of Wade Wilson's life. For a guy who looks like an avocado, Deadpool gets around.
In the first Deadpool movie, one of the jokes in the marketing portrayed it as a love story to tie in with the fact that it came out just before Valentine's Day. It's not exactly lying as Wade's actions are all motivated by love.
Sure, he may look like a sculpture made of dried bubble gum and he has some serious personality problems, but Wade Wilson has a lengthy list of love interests over the years. The sense of humor and abs probably help. He's been married a handful of times. The guy gets around. Let's take a look at the ladies of his life who could look past his skin texture.

Creative licenses were certainly taken with fan-favorite, Deadpool/Wade Wilson, in Hugh Jackman and Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Producers were expecting backlash from comic book purists, but hoped the general audience would embrace their changes. In the beginning of the film Wade Wilson, the Merc with a Mouth, was played by Ryan Reynolds ("Safe House"), but when we later see Wade, he has transformed into the final antagonist, Weapon XI/Deadpool. That version looks almost unrecognizable, having undergone multiple surgical enhancements/experiments by the sinister Colonel William Stryker (Danny Huston). StudioADI was kind enough to send us these exclusive close-up images that reveal all of the minute details that went into the make-up effects for Weapon XI/Deadpool. Underneath all of those gnarly Weapon XI prosthetics is Ryan Reynolds, but many of the action scenes were performed by stunt double/martial arts expert, Scott Adkins. Click Images To...

If you’ve seen The Expendables 2, you’ve noticed that Jean-Claude Van Damme was part of that cast that included the biggest action star names in the world, such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham and the legendary Chuck Norris. In the film, Van Damme plays a character named “Jean Vilain” – the lead villain in the film – and this was the fourth time Van Damme played a villain role during his acting career. The kind of actor who can change the skin of the macho man type of roles he usually plays.

Vincent (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is a highly-paid and thoroughly ruthless assassin. Roland Flint (Scott Adkins) was an undercover agent, caught by the villainous Polo (Ivan Kaye) and forced to watch while his beloved wife was gang-raped and then beaten into a coma from which she has yet to awaken. Flint has disappeared with his wife and millions of dollars that had been amassed by corrupt Interpol agents and they want it back. They arrange to have Polo released from prison to flush him out, hoping to either bag Flint themselves, or get Vincent to do it. Flint and Vincent wind up getting in each other’s way, before deciding to team up. Vincent’s in it for the money, Flint just wants revenge.
