Special Agent 007 has become immensely popular since decades as it is one of the oldest spy franchises in film history. Throughout the years, numerous actors have portrayed the iconic character, but it was Daniel Craig who took the character’s popularity to a whole new level. The Knives Out actor played James Bond for 15 years and was the longest-serving actor in the role, arguably overtaking Sean Connery in terms of popularity and portrayal of the character.

While Daniel Craig took up the role in five movies, in Casino Royale, Eva Green stole the spotlight from him by becoming a key highlight in the film, and even being remembered as ‘The Hottest Bond Girl.’ Interestingly, Green did not want to be a part of the film, until Barbara Broccoli decided to persistently pursue her to be a part of it.

Sean Penn Tells Sean Hannity He Doesn’t Trust Him, Says He Believes Ukraine Will Win the War (Video)
Sean Penn took his activism on behalf of Ukraine to cable news on Tuesday, appearing on both MSNBC’s “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell, and Fox News’ “Hannity,” hosted of course by Sean Hannity.
And on Fox, while the two Seans admitted some unease speaking to each other, given their political differences, they managed a respectful and far ranging conversation about the ongoing war in Ukraine started by Russia’s unprovoked invasion. And ultimately, Penn declared his belief that Ukraine will win this war.
Once greetings were set aside, their chat started off with Sean Hannity asking Sean Penn about something Penn said during a recent conversation.
“So, I made a phone call to you. I read that you were there. And the story interested me. If you were on this set, 99 out of 100 times, we probably would be in full disagreement, right?” said Hannity

A day after The Daily Beast reported MSNBC almost brought back ex-host Keith Olbermann to replace Rachel Maddow, Olbermann has weighed in, filling in more details — from his perspective — about the matter, including his reported conflict with Rachel Maddow.
Among other things, Olbermann conceded he may have started that conflict with Maddow by his actions in 2011. He also specifically accused ex-NBC News boss Andy Lack of plotting to fire Lawrence O’Donnell and give O’Donnell’s show to Olbermann nearly a year before that whole thing became public drama.
You can read the Daily Beast’s story here, but the upshot: According to their reporting, MSNBC wanted to bring Olbermann back to host a show in the time slot currently occupied by “The Rachel Maddow Show.” According to Db, Maddow, who is of course pivoting to a new role at the network starting later this year, personally vetoed a potential Olbermann deal.

MSNBC and the WGA East have reached an agreement to hold an election to determine whether the writers and producers on all of the network’s shows want to be represented by the guild. The election, which will be supervised by the National Labor Relations Board, involves 315 writers, producers, booking producers, fact checkers and planners at every program airing on MSNBC and on Peacock’s The Choice.
Ballots will be go out on July 20, and must be returned by August 17.
The network’s writers, producers and support staff unionized with the guild last month, when more than 200 members of the bargaining unit signed a petition to recognize the guild as their bargaining representative – which is more than the majority needed to give the guild the right to begin negotiations for a first-time contract.

News networks trumpeted their first-quarter ratings by keying in on their bright spots: CNN got the biggest bounce and topped the 25-54 demo, Fox News led in primetime in total viewers, and MSNBC ranked first in total-day viewers.
But drill down to the month of March, and a slower news cycle versus a year earlier appears to have had an impact on viewership.
All of the news networks were down significantly for the month, with Fox News off 34% in total viewers in primetime, CNN down 37% and MSNBC losing 19%. In total day, the falloff was even more significant, with Fox News off 40%, CNN dropping 32% and MSNBC falling 19%. Granted, March 2020 was an extraordinary month with the full start of the Covid-19 crisis and states entering lockdowns, but there also has been some expectation of a decline with the end of the election cycle and inauguration, and the lack of the daily news-cycle presence of Donald Trump.

German cinema looks set for a major boost this year from some of the country’s most commercially successful and critically acclaimed directors tackling such eclectic subject matter as U.S. torture in Guantánamo, the impact of bipolar disorder on family, and a folkloric love story about the Grim Reaper.
The pandemic postponed a number of scheduled 2020 productions, which will likely make 2021 a busy year as production companies make up lost time.
Andreas Dresen, Til Schweiger, Michael Bully Herbig, Hans-Christian Schmid, Sönke Wortmann and the late Joseph Vilsmaier all have high-profile projects in the works or set to hit theaters (when they reopen) this year.
Dresen explores the injustice of America’s war on terror in the tentatively titled “Rabiye Kurnaz vs. George W. Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we talk about movie stars! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones they made in between.

Conor and I are blessed to have the wonderful Fiona Underhill (of JumpCut Online) on to talk through the underrated actor’s incredibly diverse career. We dish on Ewan’s iconic looks, the full frontal nudity that punctuated his early films, the conflicted accent work, that James Joyce movie he did, and the long feud between him and Danny Boyle that happened because of The Beach.

With so much to watch on Netflix so far in September, you would be forgiven for being overwhelmed and having quite a backlog already. We’ve been treated to plenty of Netflix Originals, such as Tom Holland’s psychological thriller The Devil All the Time, unnerving horror flick I’m Thinking of Ending Things and sci-fi drama Away, while we’ve also seen the addition of classics like the full Back to the Future trilogy, the kid-friendly How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Seth Rogen’s beloved stoner comedy Pineapple Express.
While the rest of the month looks to be pretty loaded, today’s new content drop is comparatively small. However, it does come sporting a much-anticipated animated show based on a popular video game series, so fans might want to log in and take a look.

It’s time to look ahead at what’s coming to Netflix over the next seven days and what a big week it’s set to be for the streaming giant. As well as the usual assortment of newly licensed titles being added to the site’s library, there are a number of hotly anticipated original movies and TV shows due this week as well.
While nothing new arrives on Monday, Tuesday delivers 15 fresh titles for you to consume, ranging from the latest season of British period drama Call the Midwife to 2013’s The Smurfs 2. There’s also some great documentary content, including the second seasons of both America’s Book of Secrets and The Universe.
Wednesday then sees the first major original of the week hit Netflix – psychological thriller The Devil all the Time, starring a packed cast of A-Listers including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sebastian Stan.

Like many concepts, the idea of true love has become, to a large degree, the territory for advertisement, self-help books and an industry revolving around greeting cards or flower bouquets. Reading some of these books, watching commercial romantic films and looking at the images associated with the concept may just result in a nervous breakdown, for love itself has been commercialized. For many the goal of experiencing true love has become blurred by images and texts, most of which contain a capitalist or corporate agenda, which has resulted in a great deal of uncertainty whether we truly know what true love is, if we have experienced it or if we ever will. In his directing debut “Gone with the Light” screenwriter Ding Run-nian tackles this rather complex issue within a story that blends elements of science-fiction and drama, exploring the aforementioned questions and the personal struggles that follow the answers.

The streaming war is an epic battle that will rage on for years to come, funded by some of the richest corporations on the planet and being fought solely from the comfort of couches around the world. With the competition only continuing to heat up and new platforms either debuting or being announced on an increasingly regular basis, eventually only those with enough disposable income will be able to experience the full range of over-the-top content on offer.
Having led the charge since the very beginning, it seems unlikely that anyone will be able to dislodge Netflix as the market leaders seeing as they currently have over 100 million more subscribers than their closest competitors at Amazon Prime. That being said, with Disney Plus boasting some of the biggest brands in the industry and making new Star Wars and Marvel Cinematic Universe shows a priority, along with HBO Max’s focus on their expanded DC universe,...

September marks the start of the traditional TV season. For many networks and cable channels, however, this will be an usual season with the coronavirus pandemic halting production leaving behind paltry fall lineups. Over on Netflix, however, things continue to operate at high capacity.
Netflix is rolling out quite a few original series and movies for its new releases in September 2020. The Hillary Swank-starring space drama Away premieres on September 4. That is followed by a whole host of intriguing concepts including Julie and the Phantoms (Sept. 10), Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (Sept. 18), and even the Nurse Ratched origin story series called Ratched (Sept. 18).
The film side of things is just as packed. Romantic comedy Love, Guaranteed premieres on Sept. 3, Charlie Kaufman’s latest effort I’m Thinking of Ending Things arrives on Sept. 4, and the Tom Holland-starring thriller The Devil All the Time bows on Sept. 16. That’s not even to mention Enola Holmes on Sept.
