- Kelly Severide: I feel like I haven't been a good friend. You've been going through something and I should have picked up on it.
- Matthew Casey: That's on me. I made sure you didn't pick up on it.
- Kelly Severide: Why? You can tell me anything. You better know that by now.
- Matthew Casey: Yeah, I do, it's just... I grew up in a family full of secrets. I guess, it's... it's become a fallback for me.
- Sylvie Brett: I'm coming with you to hear the results.
- Matthew Casey: Sylvie.
- Sylvie Brett: No, I know firefighting is your whole life and you're scared as hell, but so am I, and we can be scared together.
- Matthew Casey: You have your own life to deal with, I was being selfish.
- Sylvie Brett: Matt Casey, don't argue with me.
- Blake Gallo: Mouch, that was... I mean... Wow. You okay?
- Randall McHolland: [coughs] Worst party ever.
- Christopher Herrmann: Hey, it was a beautiful save. But you had to go and steal my thunder, huh? I pulled off this pretty sweet rope rescue, me and this kid, some kind of natural born firefighter. You guys gotta meet him. Uh... huh
- [looks around]
- Christopher Herrmann: Where'd he go?
- Darren Ritter: Yo, you guys missed the Mouch save of the century.
- Blake Gallo: He was like... Chief, don't come in, it's too hot. But then, he bursts out of the building, the little girl in his arms.
- Wallace Boden: Good morning.
- Randall McHolland: Morning, Chief.
- Christopher Herrmann: Hey, Chief.
- Wallace Boden: I have to call an audible today. Due to medical concerns, Captain Casey is gonna have to take the next two shifts out. I'll be accompanying Truck 81, calling the shots. Mouch, take the first seat.
- Randall McHolland: Sure thing, Chief.
- Wallace Boden: Okay, couple of other announcements...
- [alarm blares]
- Emergency dispatch: Engine 51, Truck 81, Ambulance 61, structure fire, 26th and Austin.
- Sylvie Brett: Okay, so. How terrible was the playlist? You can be honest.
- Matthew Casey: It was great. It was definitely a distraction. It was horrible.
