So this was the first episode of this new show, in this episode, we find out about the new team the characters and plot . Not like other NCIS's shows that showed the characters in NCIS the mother show and Gibbs and Tony were in Jag before. Here we didn't had any prior knowledge about the characters so everything was new to us. For me it was ok episode, the plot made sense and was linked to NCIS mission ,the action wasn't bad either . The characters themselves were generic nothing really stand out, not even the lead character that should be the most interesting one and the one that the show resolves around. There was nothing special in this pilot that makes you want to say I'm going to watch the next episode .everything seemed like ordinary episode from other NCIS shows or other action show that is currently on.

It was a very average episode of an NCIS series that will not stand out in the long run. The thing I really didn't like in this episode was the kiss between those two women which was completely unnecessary. The only purpose of this kiss was to establish lesbianism as a character trait for those two women, which I'm always skeptical of: is homosexuality important to the story or for representation purposes? If lesbianism was a very key factor in these two characters, it could have been implied by wordplay and conversations between the two characters. I don't say all of this from a homophobic standpoint, but from a storytelling standpoint. I support the queer community 100%- in fact, im queer- but this kiss was completely unnecessary and very disappointing to me.

Beautiful place, beautiful people, what's not to like? NCIS formula, gorgeous location all in all maybe a little too pretty. No older, seasoned, slightly mysterious character. Not very much "quirky" and interesting. Entertaining, will give it more time.

Your typical NCIS but definitely not better than the others. Could make it but honestly your time is better spend rewatching Hawaii 5 o. Can't have similar shows in the same city. This never worked.

Ignore all the 1 and 2 star reviews, people angry at female leads or gay characters just need to get a life. Maybe this show won't play well for these reasons in the Red states in the US, but it will in the rest of the world.

I know my header review appears chauvinistic but if you watch this pilot episode you will quickly realize that the series could have been mistaken for an episode of Dancing With the Stars and not a dramatic crime fighting investigating TV series based on the age of all the stars being somewhere between 25-40 years old and all of them have a 22-26 inch waist.

Yeah the landscape of Hawai'i is beautiful but I want to watch a series based on a good mystery and/or storyline.

I give this pilot episode a lowly 3 out of 10 IMDB rating and I predict the series will not have a season 2.

This series is off to a rough start.

Every other NCIS show is strong ...with great plots and acting.

This was a terrible pilot....with a thin plot and lifeless acting. I hope there producers get their act together, or this show will crash and burn.

Loved the pilot, and the nice combo of the tried and tested NCIS formula and some changes.

Brilliant location, brilliant cast, and I'm excited for the two will they/ won't they romances I saw already being set up.

Would love for their to be some crossovers with other Hawaii based shows - Magnum PI or some Hawaii 5-0 cast members anyone?

This pilot was pretty dissaspointing, it felt like an attempt to recycle CBS assets leftover from Hawaii Five 0 by putting "NCIS" on it to get an existing audience. The plot of the episode was nothing new or engaging, and could have been used for any other CBS crime show. While Hawaii Five 0 and the Magnum PI reboot have made the state a character of the show, this show reduces Hawai'i into some bad stock footage superimposed behind characters talking in front of a green screen.

So as a huge NCIS fan I was super hesitant about this new one (hence why I'm only now watching), but I gotta admit this was a very good pilot! The storyline was decent, but what made it was the well balanced set up of a group interesting and diverse main characters! I'm definitely looking forward to catching up!

What a disappointing beginning to what could have been a new iteration of NCIS. With beautiful Hawaii as a co-star, this can't be bad right? Unfortunately the characters are generic, with the by the books leader, the rebellious agent that gets into trouble, the tech geek, the overachieving agent, and of course already in the pilot there has to be a forced LGBT character moment probably just for representation sake. I at least hoped the pilot would leave a memorable impression - something that would grab me and be like, cool this is promising, but the pilot just plodded along and never got any more exciting as it went on and there wasn't really much action. Maybe my expectations were too high, expecting Five-0 2.0, but a pilot should have been a lot more engaging than this was. I want me a combination of NCIS:LA action with Five-0 asskickery. Hopefully it will improve over the season. Jury's still out. I'll give it a couple more eps. Five-0 and Magnum both hit the ground running and never let up. Man I miss Five-0. For now, this pilot is under arrest. Book 'em Danno.

This pilot episode was all over the place. Seemed to be checking the boxes. Too much going on from multiple different characters. Perhaps the show will get better, but I'm not holding out much hope.

I watched this so called show, I have been watching all NCIS shows for a long time. I must say sorry this one is not going to make the cut for me, plus this is not Hawaii Five-O. And it will not be NCIS New Orleans. Do good luck with making it to season 2.

I get it, they were trying to make a female-led NCIS. Fine with me, even though every single NCIS series had strong women in charge, since JAG. But she's everywhere. Look, I'm a single mom, balancing work and family. Look, I'm not going to take any nonsense about crime scene jurisdiction (totally unnecessary pissing contest, just to establish who's who). It goes on and on, it gets a bit annoying and overshadows the rest of the team, which is already bland and generic (the IT guy alone, SMH). I'll give it a few episodes and hope once they've set the scene they'll focus on cases more.

Everyone's young and beautiful, characters old and typical though - and I couldn't believe the shot where they actually featured the high-heeled pumps worn by the one female higher-up! (Sry I don't remember any of their names)

Worse than a daytime soap. My real rating would be a big fat "0".

Lots of Battles between the sexes and the same sex just for PC tick the box. They spent inordinate amount of time throwing backgrounds in for the characters. Too much needless info The rest is cliches. Lots of me too women showing who's the boss or even slugging men. All the added "I'm the boss" and character backgrounds leaves you confused and you don't care anymore. Lastly, it was very hard to understand them sometimes.

I had high hopes for this new show. I liked NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans but this show is missing something both of them had: characters you care about from the get-go. The people on the show are absolutely blah and the story was boring. Regrettably, this isn't a show I'll be continuing to watch.

Acting is mediocre, lots of cliche stuff (the mega screen, the nerd). Stopped watching halfway through the show at the two-women kiss. Disgusting and totally unnecessary. Don't waste your time on this show.

The writers know very little about Hawaiian culture and absolutely nothing about what NCIS does. Maybe they hire some consultants or maybe they just continue the NCIS dive. It's too bad really.

This story would have been more at home on Hawaii 50 than this. It was a REAL stretch to put NCIS on this case. They really should not have been on it. If this is the start I am afraid the rest will be downhill.

I'm going to give the show a few more episodes because sometimes it takes a while for the characters to develop and become likable. But this first episode is a put off not because of the storyline but because of both poor acting and bad character scripts. We'll see how the season progresses.
