Cluemaster demands Sophie solved his clues, and she tells him that he has the rest of his life in prison to figure it out.
Now

Batwoman is fighting Society gangers, while Luke tells her over the comms to leave one conscious so she can plant the tracker. Batwoman continues knocking out gangers, and then plants a tracer on man's shoe and demands to know where Black Mask is. Tavaroff and his man come up behind Batwoman, hold her at gunpoint, and tell her to put her hands up. Batwoman rants about how they lie, cheat, and cover up murders, and they suck at their jobs. She says that she put a tracker on the ganger's boot, and she could have put Black Mask away. She then rappels out through a window before they can shoot.
Jacob sits in a playground, contemplating a vial of Snakebite. He injects himself and has a vision of his young daughters Kate and Beth playing on the swing set.
In Alice is tied up at Black Mask's manor. Black Mask demands to know Batwoman's identity, and Alice says that Batwoman stabbed her in the back. The villain finally tells Alice to shut up, and explains that he wants to destroy Batwoman like Batwoman destroyed his business. Alice says that the name eludes her, and Black Mask doesn't believe her. He prepares to pull out one of her fingernails using a clockwork device in the arm of the chair.
Ryan returns to her loft and finds Mary and Sophie drinking. Sophie says that the guys at work gave her tequila for her five-year anniversary, and she wanted to share it with someone. Ryan isn't interested in joining them, but Mary figures that Ryan could use some alcohol. Giving in, Ryan agrees to have one drink. Soon they're having more drinks and talking about "Never Have I Ever".
Ryan says that the new Batwoman saved her the last Halloween. A drunken Sophie says that wouldn't make sense, and they're interrupted when Mary finds a worm in her drink. She checks the Internet on her phone and discovers that it's a puss caterpillar, one of the most venomous caterpillars in the world. However, a single caterpillar isn't lethal. Ryan figures the gift didn't come from the Crows to Sophie, and finds a card with the gift saying that a girl has been poisoned but not Sophie, and gives Sophie a clue that she can't save the girl before midnight. The note is signed "Cluemaster".
Sophie explains who Cluemaster is, and how a former gameshow host Arthur Brown went insane and laid out clues for law enforcement, saying what his next crime would be. Mary confirms that Cluemaster escaped Blackgate and wants to call Jacob, but Sophie says that if they involve the authorities then Cluemaster will see it as cheating.
They go over the clue and note that Cluemaster called Sophie "Hot Shot". She heats the bottle with a candle, revealing a symbol, and Ryan recognizes it and knows where to go.
In the manor basement, Alice loses her fingernail to the clockwork mechanism. She pulls herself free and breaks a bottle. Circe comes downstairs to investigate, and Alice knocks her out, takes her cell phone, and calls Jacob. Alice says who she is, and tells him to trace the call and rescue her. Jacob, seeing a hallucination of his younger daughter, tells Alice that she has the wrong number and hangs up. Circe recovers and knocks out Alice from behind.
Ryan, Sophie, and Mary go to a gated military compound. Sophie explains that Cluemaster researched her background because of his obsession with her, including where she trained. They climb the fence and start looking for the victim, and Sophie explains that the show production staff was throwing a party to honor the gameshow's top winners. Cluemaster thought the writers dumbed down the clues, and took out an ad in the paper saying he was going to blow up the party. Sophie was manning the hotline, and a woman called in and told her how to solve Cluemaster's clue. She lied and took credit for something she didn't do, and Sophie admits that it's haunted her. The caller begged Sophie to keep her identity a secret. Ryan is skeptical, and Sophie insists that she can be trusted.
Mary finds a bottle of antihistamine. The lights come up on a glass cell on a firing range, and Sophie realizes that it's Stephanie Brown, Cluemaster's daughter. They go out, but there's no lock or cell on the door. Stephanie realizes that her father poisoned her, and Sophie figures that they can shoot open the cell. Mary finds a gun, and there are four bullets, four guns, and four targets. The boxes have silhouettes of a bird, bobcat, fly, and spider on them. The women try to figure out what order the color-coded boxes go in order, and they're all chained together.
Sophie works out the "pecking order," and Sophie shoots the colored targets in the right order. The cell opens , and they go to give Stephanie the antihistamine order. She reveals that words have been inked on her skin.
Circe ties Alice back up. When Alice wakes up, Circe advises Alice to tell Black Mask who Batwoman is. Alice says that would deprive her of the chance to kill Batwoman, and Circe prepares to cut out Alice's eyeballs. Alice knows about Circe from Arkham, and Circe says that the CEO she killed deserved to die. Alice realizes who she's dealing with, and Circe says that her father rescued her from the Arkham breakout. Circe says that it's time to talk about Batwoman, and Alice tells Circe to bring Black Mask and she'll tell him what he wants to hear.
The women take Stephanie back to their loft and examine the writing on her. Stephanie tells them that her father's next move is to kill Sophie, and she's the one who called in. She grew up trying to solve her father's clues, because he tested them on her. When Cluemaster escaped, he paid Stephanie a visit and tried to enlist her in his revenge scheme on the fifth anniversary of when Sophie arrested him.
The trio call Luke in, and he goes over the writing to decode it. Stephanie challenges Luke with riddles that he solves, and he determines that it's a substitution cipher of the gameshow's catchphrase. Sophie figures that Cluemaster plans to finish blowing up the gameshow.
Sophie, Mary, and Ryan go there, Ryan and Mary step on the stage, and a video plays of Cluemaster saying they're on a weight-sensitive platform. He then displays a five-minute timer and gives them riddles. They figure the first one out and get more clues.
At the loft, Luke and Stephanie work to break the code. They talk about how Stephanie went to MIT when she was 16, and she explains that her father trained her in riddles so she could test his. Stephanie cracks the code, says the show is a decoy, apologizes to Luke, and then knocks him out before leaving.
The video of Cluemaster continues, as he recites Gotham villainy clues. They "win" 45 minutes, and Cluemaster says that Sophie will eventually solve it. Sophie continues dropping hints that she knows Ryan is Batwoman, and Ryan figures they need to replace their weight on the plate with a counterweight. They call Luke, but he's unconscious and doesn't answer.
Black Mask prepares to shoot Alice if she doesn't give him Batwoman's name. Alice has worked out that Black Mask is Roman Sionis, and says that it's a good thing because she makes human faces. She says that she can give Circe her face back.
Mary tells Ryan that they need Batwoman, and maybe Ryan should tell Sophie that she's Batwoman. Sophie comes over from calling out without success, and figures the way out is to die. Ryan argues, and Mary tells them to stop arguing. Sophie finally says that she knows Ryan is Batwoman. Ryan denies it but Sophie tells her to drop the charade and tells her what to do to save them. After a moment, Ryan tells her how to get her baton from the Batcave and Sophie leaves.
Once Sophie leaves, Ryan says that Sophie tried to liquor Mary up to get her to reveal Ryan is Batwoman. Mary figures that Ryan hates the Crows so much that Ryan can't think rationally. She points out that Ryan would rather let her die due to the bomb rather than reveal her secret identity.
Sophie goes to the Batcave and gets the baton.
Stephanie goes to her childhood home. Cluemaster is there, wearing a costume, and says that the two of them should weed out human ignorance together. Stephanie tells her father that she put him behind bars and she solved his riddle, and called Sophie to tell him. Cluemaster wonders why Stephanie would betray him, and she says that he's going back to prison. Before she can stop him, Cluemaster uses knock out gas to render her unconscious.
Luke wakes up and finds Stephanie's notes.
Stephanie wakes up and finds herself in a car with Cluemaster. Gas is pouring into the vents and the doors are locked. She realizes that he plans to kill himself and her, and he says that life is a puzzle and suicide is the only thing that fits. Luke arrives, having worked out the clue, and breaks the window. He pulls Stephanie out,.
Ryan and Mary wait for Sophie to return, and Ryan admits that Mary was right. She explains that she was insulted that Mary talked to Sophie earlier instead of her. Mary tells Ryan that Jacob is using Snakebite, and Sophie knows it. Sophie just checked in on Mary, and just wants to see her happy. When Sophie comes in, Ryan takes the baton and tells Sophie to take cover. She then uses the baton grapple line to pull herself and Mary to safety as the bomb explodes.
Sophie comes up and offers Ryan her hand, and Ryan takes it. The Crow says that Ryan can trust her.
The police arrive at the Brown house and take Cluemaster's body away. Stephanie says that her father couldn't live in a world where she was smarter than him. Luke tells Stephanie that she's nothing like her father. Stephanie isn't convinced, but Luke points out that Stephanie acted to protect him. Stephanie says that she spent her entire life trying to impress an egomaniac, and he tried to call her. Luke assures her that she'll find her own people, just like he did. Stephanie kisses him and figures that he'll figure out her number.
At the clinic, Mary is leaving a message from Jake when the EMTs bring in Jacob, who is overdosing from Snakebite.
At the bar, Ryan and Sophie are drinking. Sophie explains how she figured out Ryan was Batwoman, and says that she's not Ryan's enemy. Ryan point out that Sophie first though Ryan was an ex-con with no future. Sophie says that she was wrong and apologizes, and she's already kept the information from the Crows. She explains how she destroyed the DNA evidence, and wanted to earn Ryan's trust. Sophie hopes that it's a start and leaves.
Alice works on the mask, and tells Sionis that he has to keep her alive because Circe's mask will need constant tune up. Once he leaves to get concealer, Alice asks Circe if it's really what she wants. Circe says that she wants to be herself, and Alice tells her that she saw Circe's body at Arkham. Alice warns Circe that the mask will be close, but Circe has blue eyes but the person in the photo has brown eyes. She puts on the Circe mask and says that Circe has their father's eyes... and calls Circe Kate.
