"Mums"
At an isolated farmhouse, Jack slops the pigs and notices his father Hank come out of the house and drive off in his truck. Later, Jack goes in to have breakfast, and his mother Bloom asks him if he has ever met his grandmother. When Jack agrees, Bloom gets her suitcase and points out that they've never taken a trip together, and says that her garden will take care of itself. As they go on the porch, they find Hank and his friends Beth and Conner there. Hank asks where Bloom is off to, and says that Bloom can't take Jack because he's his boy. He complains about her hippie ways, and refuses to get out of her way. Hank insists that Jack stay there with him.
When Bloom says that her mistake was marry Hank, and that he's a two-bit separatist terrorist, Hank grabs Bloom and she drops her bag. It breaks open, revealing money and a bottle of rye, and Hank sees it and accuses her of stealing it from it. Bloom says that Hank planted it in the suitcase and grabs her. When Jack protests, Hank tells him to stay out of it and drags Bloom to stay out of it. Bloom asks Beth to take care of Jack, and threatens to call a lawyer. Hank doesn't care, figuring that they'll listen to him since he's a former Marine. He throws her in his truck and drives off with her and Conner.
Beth tells Jack that things will ease up between Bloom and Hank. Jack figures that there will always be problems between his parents despite Beth's assurances, and Beth assures the boy that once Bloom is "better", they'll be a family again.
That night, Hank and Conner go out in the woods, and discuss how they'll tell Jack that Bloom struggled in the truck and jumped.
At the farmhouse, Beth waters Bloom's mums and tells Jack that she'll stay until Bloom comes back. Jack agrees and hopes Bloom is okay. He takes his mother's suitcase to her room, opens the case, and finds photos in it of him as a baby. He also finds an envelope with several seeds, drops them on the dirt floor, and the bloody corpse of his mother appears. Jack wakes up from his nightmare, and Beth comes in and tries to reassure him that he had a bad dream. She tells him to go back to sleep and leaves.
Hank and Conner bury Bloom's body in her garden, and Hank cuts himself on the shovel handle, bleeding on the mums.
The next morning, Jack is in the farmhouse kitchen, checking the seeds. Beth comes in and asks to see the seeds, and says that he wants to plant them. Hank and Conner comes in, Hank shaking dirt off of his boots, Jack's father says that it's unfortunate Jack had to see Bloom and him arguing, but needs to understand that it's for the best. He tells Jack that Bloom isn't coming back soon, and she wanted to leave to go someplace where she could drink and take her pills, and eventually chosen them over Jack. Hank claims that Bloom had a complete breakdown at the police station. He says that Bloom is in a halfway house getting the help that she needs, and tells Jack to be strong while they wait.
Later, Jack plants Bloom's seeds in her garden and pricks his finger on of them. Beth comes out and asks what he's doing, and jokes with the boy about how long the seeds will take to grow. She helps Jack plants the seeds. Later, Hank and Conner are in the kitchen, drinking and planning and attack on an ATF government building. Jack secretly watches as Hank tells Conner that secessionism isn't new and they're in the vanguard.
The seeds visibly grow in the garden, blooming into mums. The next morning, Jack finds the mums and wonders how it's possible they grew so fast. Crying, Jack wishes Bloom could see the flowers and finds they remind him of her. He finds hair like Bloom's growing from them, and cuts his hand on their thorns as he remembers what Hank said about him. His blood drips on the ground, and as Jack sticks the flower in the ground, he says that he misses his mother. Beth comes up behind Jack and says that Bloom loves her as well, and she was afraid Bloom couldn't be out on her own with everything in her head. Jack says that Bloom will be back soon and they hug. As he does, he smears his blood on Beth's back.
That night, Hank finds Jack looking at the photos and tells him to stop daydreaming and do his chores. Once he leaves to go drinking, Jack picks the photos up and looks at them. The boy looks out the window and sees Hank, Conner, and Beth on the porch. Conner tells Hank that Bloom told Beth everything she knew when she called Beth, and didn't say anything about their attack on the ATF. If she did tell the government, Conner made it clear he would kill her. Hank leaves and Conner kisses Beth before going
Jack goes out on the back step and hears one of the pigs squealing. He finds it tangle up in vines and frees it. The pigs run off and the vines grab him as a hand made of plants emerges from the dirt. Bloom's partially plant-like body emerges from the dirt and tries to pull Jack to her, and she squeezes blood out of the cut on Jack's hand and drinks it. She then releases Jack pulls him to her, and whispers in his ear. He goes into the house and asks Beth to come with him, takes her to the garden, and clubs her down with a shovel.
Later, Hank comes back from drinking and calls to Jack. Jack steps out of the shadows and tells his father that he did something bad, and needs Hank's help. He takes Hank to the garden where Beth's corpse is, vines growing into her body. Jack hits Hank with the shovel, and when Hank goes for his gun, vines grab him and a plant with teeth grows out of Bloom's body and bites Hanks' face, then pulls him into the shallow grave. Jack smiles and tosses the shovel into the grave, then goes inside and calls Conner, saying that Hank wants him to come over. When Conner comes over, the Bloom bloom kills him as well.
The next day, Jack drives to see his grandmother, the Bloom bloom and his mother's suitcase in the seat next to him.
----- ] "Queen Bee"
Fan Ternice is watching a video of pop star Regina is performing on stage, along with her friends Debra and Carlos. Carlos isn't impressed, saying that Trenice is obsessed. Debra argues that she's Regina's number one fan, and has seen her live when Trenice hasn't. Carlos is sexually attracted to Regina, and Ternice points out that Regina is nine months pregnant. He's smoking, and Debra's mother calls to her daughter from through the door. Mom comes in and gives them her wallet so they can order pizza if they want.
Debra mentions that Regina is in labor, and once they're along Trenice asks Debra to clarify. Her mother had to go home because Regina is shutting down the entire fourth floor of the hospital where she works, and the singer is bringing in her own doctors to handle the delivery. Carlos figures that they can get money for a photo of the baby, and Debra says that they should respect Regina' privacy. The boy figures that Regina is a "public property ', but Trenice figures that Regina's three biggest fans should be there. Debra finally gives in and gets the security card out of her mother's wallet. However, the two girls insists to Carlos that they don't take any photos.
As the teenagers drive to the hospital, Trenice calls her mother and says that she's staying the night with Debra. The radio broadcast says that Regina is about to go into labor and is at an undisclosed location, and plays Regina's latest hit.
When they get to the hospital, Carlos uses Trenice's selfie stick to bypass the security camera so they can get in. They go onto the 4th floor and see Regina being rolled into the delivery room on a gurney. A security guard confronts the teenagers and tells them that the floor is off-limits, and they struggle with the guard and knock him down the stairs of the stairwell they're hiding in. He seemingly dies, and Carlos and Trenice panic and go onto the floor. Debra follows them and hears a humming noise. Trenice dismisses it as an electrical hum.
The elevator door opens, and the teenagers hide as an orderly wheel a corpse on a gurney past. Trenice knocks over a magazine rack, and the orderly calmly walks over, looks around, and turns toward Trenice to reveal he has glowing green eyes. He adjusts the thermostat next to her, without apparently seeing her, and then continues wheeling the gurney down the hall. Debra finds Regina and calls her friends over, and they go past gurneys with more corpses before they get to the observation window.
More doctors with glowing green eyes perform the delivery, giving Regina an epidural. Regina's back twitches, and she moans in pain. Regina transforms into a giant insect with Regina's head, and Carlos takes a photo with his phone. Regina sees the flash, and the doctors rub at their eyes. The singer screeches and the observation glass shatters, and Trenice yells that they have to run as the green glow comes back to the doctors' eyes. Carlos and Debra's eyes glow green as well, and Trenice realizes that her earbuds are protecting her from Regina's mind-control screech. She grabs cotton balls from a nearby jar and stuffs them in Debra's ears, snapping her out of the mind control. Carlos joins the doctors and hails Regina as his queen. Regina stabs him in the head with one of her legs, and he collapses.
Trenice and Debra run out, and discover the door to the stairwell is locked. The security guard has glowing green eyes, and look at them through the door's window, and stats to open the door. Debra barricades it with an IV stand, and the orderly comes up, grabs Deb by the hair, and drags her away down the hall. Trenice grabs a fire extinguisher and hits the orderly over the head, and Regina sends two of the drone/doctors after them. The girls sprays them with the extinguisher, , and then runs to the elevator with Debra.
The elevator doesn't come, and Trenice tells Debra that they have to hide. The girls hid around a corner, and the drones take up position guarding the elevators. Debra grabs a bottle of pills from a nearby cart and throws it down the hall, attracting one drone's attention. Trenice and Debra slam the card into the other drone, but it grabs Debra's leg while the other drone comes back and tackles Trenice. Debra jams a syringe from the cart into her drone's eye, then uses the electroshock paddles on the card to shock the one strangling Trenice.
As they take elevator down, Trenice says they can use the photo on Carlos' camera to expose Regina. Debra stops the elevator and says they can't ruin Regina's career, and insists that Regina killed Carlos to protect her privacy. Debra takes out the cotton balls and drags Trenice to a hive that Regina has created, and sticks Trenice to it. A mind-controlled Debra comes in and tells Trenice that she feels bad about betraying Trenice, but has to protect Regina's image.
Debra takes one of Regina's "babies" from its cell... and lets it feed on Trenice.
