*Spoilers* I thought this was a wonderfully written and well acted miniseries. Until I watched this episode. They jumped the shark with this one, especially for special effects. Way over the top acting, direction and special effects from the 1980s. I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt that the only reason that this episode made it through production was that it was designed to be differerentially and specifically "jump retro" for a twist ending. Still some good scenes though...

Who puts a bottle episode as the series/season finale?

It's full of classic tropes. The plot becomes a banal one about 'revelation' instead of the potential to explore the premise.
The last 5 minutes are wasted away on a song when it could have been a great epilogue to show the universe post-acceptance.
Sigh. Such a waste of a good premise.
