Buckin' Bulls, the story of Ty Rinaldo, answers the most important question I had about Bull riding--why would anyone ride a Bull? I frankly didn't understand the sport, nor how the bulls were made to buck (I had mistakenly believed the animal athletes were mistreated, zapped, etc.). Mr. Rinaldo, a bull rider with bad luck in the injury department, finds success on the opposite side of the sport by raising some of the "nastiest" bulls out there. The story is surprisingly one of love, faith, and a curiosity for the extremes of human and animal endurance I did not expect from this title. The mundane aspects of Bull riding are made interesting (feeding and exercising of the animal athletes vs. How bull riders begin training) and reminded me of my boyhood on a cattle ranch in an oddly nostalgic way (we also used 4 wheelers to feed our animals, too!). Cheers Mr. Rinaldo and Mr. Cardona!
