- TriviaStrand says Charlie was exposed to high energy radiation from walkers that were in the bomb crater, likely alpha particles. Alpha decay radiation is actually the weakest of the three types of radiation, it can be blocked by a single layer of skin, Charlie would had to have ingested alpha radiation to be that sick from it. Plutonium-239 is one of the components of nuclear fallout and while it is of the weak alpha decay it has a very long half-life: 24,000 years, it would be present in the air and would be one of the reasons they need to wear gas masks, it would also be present in high concentrations at ground zero (the place where the bomb detonated). Next is beta decay particles, they have more energy than alpha particles and can penetrate the body's epidermis, some of the weaker beta particles can be blocked by a layer of clothing and even the stronger beta particles can be blocked by a layer of plastic an inch thick. Strontium-90 is one of the major components of fallout and is a beta decay particle, it is the main reason everyone wears extra layers of clothing and masks. Strontium-90 is probably one of the most dangerous components of nuclear fallout, it has a half-life of 28 years and is absorbed by animals, plants and in ground water, Strontium-90 is metabolized by the body in the same manner as calcium which means it accumulates in the bones of the body, it is the type of radiation that causes cancer after exposure. The most energetic and dangerous type of radiation is the third decay type: gamma decay particles. Gamma particles are highly energetic and can only be stopped by extremely dense materials like lead. Probably the most serious overall threat in nuclear fallout is cesium-137, a gamma decay particle with a half-life of 30 years, it is metabolized by the body in the same manner as potassium so it is easily taken into the blood stream and rapidly accumulates in tissues, it is one of the main fallout components that causes acute radiation sickness. Cesium-137 is a heavier element and would mainly be concentrated in the areas closest to ground zero, it is what the walkers from the bomb crater are mainly contaminated with and likely what Charley was exposed to. Another major threat from nuclear fallout, albeit a short-term threat, is iodine-131, a high energy gamma decay particle with a half-life of 8 days. By far the most dangerous component of nuclear fallout immediately following detonation of a nuclear bomb, iodine-131 is an extremely energetic particle and is also readily metabolized by the body and accumulates in the thyroid, iodine-131 is what kills off most people who are unprotected from the blast of a nuclear bomb, those far enough away to not be vaporized by the fireball but close enough to be hit by the shockwave of air contaminated by radiation. Iodine-131 would be in the air and also in the clouds and therefore also the rain, it is the reason why it is critical to stay upwind from a nuclear explosion and to stay out of the rain for at least two weeks to be safe. Expose to iodine-131 in this manner rapidly causes acute radiation sickness, those unlucky enough to be exposed to this type of early fallout die an extremely painful, slow and excruciating death over a period of two to four days depending on the amount of iodine-131 exposure.

"Divine Providence" throws away a confrontation that could have been the season's climax to play with the relationship of old friends
After Alicia arrives at the Tower with her army, Strand invites her, accompanied by Daniel, inside under the guise of discussing peace terms. Strand reveals his men are leading the radioactive walkers from the crater to the Tower to deal with Alicia's army while he keeps her prisoner until she comes around to his way of thinking. Breaking free, Alicia has a standoff with Strand who, after learning that Alicia doesn't have much time left to live, agrees to forgo his plan if she spends the time she has left with him. This change of heart causes Wes and the Rangers to mutiny, intending to kill Strand, Alicia and everyone else in order to protect the Tower.
Strand, Alicia and Daniel reach the roof and turn off the beacon, while Daniel attempts to find Ofelia based on Luciana's lies to him. Strand brings Daniel to the dying Charlie, who together with Alicia, snaps Daniel out of his delusions, convincing Daniel to look after Charlie for what little time she has left. Strand and Alicia are captured by Wes, and Strand, to Alicia's shock, kills Wes despite her attempts to talk him down. As everyone makes their way into the Tower with the horde close behind, Strand betrays Alicia, believing she will never forgive him. Alicia overpowers Strand and broadcasts a message calling other survivors to the Tower, but their fight accidentally sets fire to the Tower as Alicia passes out.
There are many issues that cannot be addressed in just one review, and many for the producers to justify, which is best forgotten like the lost children of the 5th season (now I've gone too far...). But of course, they wanted to have Victor, Alicia, and Daniel starring in one episode (the golden trio) with cheesy scenes that are painful to watch and dialogues that bleed the ears, in an attempt to evoke some emotion from what was once the friendship between the con artist and the rebel, and extract some nostalgia from it or something.
If there is one thing that works in the episode, it's Daniel, who although not very well in his mental faculties, seems to be the only one aware of what it is to be at war, sparing no effort to do what needs to be done even with liars unfortunately spared by the script. Also, the revelation of Ofelia's death, which, at least, is consciously quick and brings a sequence of clichéd flashes to the hairline, but which has power thanks to Rubén Blades.
"Divine Providence" throws away a confrontation that could have been the season's climax to play with the relationship of old friends and still stretch any hope of a good villain, with a middle-aged demented man being the only distraction in this circus.
