DarkGame, the latest thriller about dark doings on the Dark Web, opens with the masked figure known as The Presenter overseeing the murder of a bound woman in a manner chosen by the highest bidder. By the way, he chooses a chainsaw as the instrument of her demise. That’s followed by Detectives Ben Jacobs and Cathy Burnette rescuing two missing children from traffickers.
Ben has barely gotten home to his pregnant wife however when they’re called back into the station. The woman we saw killed in the opening scene had vanished without a trace a couple of weeks earlier. The footage is the only clue they have as to who is responsible, but the people behind it know how to cover their tracks.

Deep Fear, not to be confused with last year’s film about monsters under the streets of Paris (which is probably why they added the “Sharks vs Narcs” subtitle to the film for its digital release), is a call back to the shark films of the past. Not to Jaws or its imitators but to something earlier, like Shark!, Shark’s Treasure, and The Deep where the sharks were a secondary plot element, an added threat for the protagonists to face in addition to other humans.
In the case of Deep Fear that would be Naomi whom we first see showing her co-worker Barney how easily a reef shark can be steered away from people. When she surfaces her partner Jackson that he’s booked another tour.

Opening with a quote from H.G. Wells’ novel, War of the Worlds: The Attack is the latest in a seemingly endless stream of film, television shows, rock operas, and most infamously, a radio play by Orson Wells based on the classic tale of the original “Red Menace”.
Three friends Herbert, Hannah and Ogilvy are bicycling through the woods looking for a meteorite Hannah is sure landed nearby. They don’t find it although Herbert thinks he saw something hiding in the trees. He also has a theory that it’s not merely a meteorite.
The next morning they see what landed, something huge and already cordoned off by the police. As they sneak past for a closer look, it opens revealing an octopus-like occupant. But that’s nothing...

"This mission is about more than protecting innocent, it's about protecting everyone." Blue Fox Ent. has revealed an official trailer for WWII action thriller titled Wolves of War, which will be landing direct-to-vod in September. The film is about a group of British officers who lead a team of allied commandos on an impossible mission in Bavaria near the end of the war to extract an American scientist being held hostage by the Nazis. It seems to be a low-rent, direct-to-video Saving Private Ryan, but with the added stakes of the scientist being involved in the atomic bomb program. Which is such perfect fodder for even more forgettable cinema these days. Wolves of War is directed by Giles Alderson, and stars Ed Westwick, Rupert Graves, Matt Willis, Sam Gittins, Éva Magyar, and Anastasia Martin. Usually I'm all about these kind of films but it looks like this was made on...
