Warning: Spoilers
***SPOILERS*** so many of these shows were actual life lessons when they were shown, that we tend to forget how it was when people dealt with each other out of respect. You know, don't you? Before we became convinced that we were the only thing in life that mattered? The problem I had with watching this episode was that it follows (on METV) the Beverly Hillbillies THAT show is a tribute to how people can misunderstand each other. In this one, we can see that Steve is trying to get Barbara (beautiful Beverly Garland) to learn the game of golf. She really isn't interested - some of us think that it's a stupid way to wreck a nice walk - but he doesn't see it. The silly, loud noise being generated by Chip and Ernie is pure parental disconnect It's pretty obvious that neither of these two has any idea how to play their instruments (you don't play bongo drums like a pot and pan, learn to play guitar on an acoustic instrument, not an electric, please), and this is the argue point to temporarily break up the relationship. Then, they get back together, and things move forward. They try to get along without stepping on each other's feelings. Today, there would have to be a killing, or a lot of scatalogical insults to use the newest laugh machines on. Nonetheless, it's a nice episode, and you do get to look at Beverly. She deserves better than stogy old Fred. I'll give it a 7.

ONE LONG WEEK TO GO!

Another fun episode by George Tibbles, and truly an about face, all about Steve and Barbara re-thinking about getting married in the first place. Disagreements? Cold feet? Actually, this story always reminded me of something out of LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE. And that show probably did borrow some ideas from MY THREE SONS, especially from Robbie and Katie's courtship and marriage, ya think?

Of course, you don't want it to end this way, and that was the magic of this sitcom, which had its soap opera elements. A great supporting cast with popular character actor Maurice Manson as the reverend. Applause for Eleanor Audley as Mrs. Vincent, also a well known voice actor in such animation classics as CINDERELLA and SLEEPING BEAUTY. Best known as Mother Douglas on GREEN ACRES.

To note, keep an eye on Tramp, the dog, who we all loved. Tramp played a valuable part in the series and was with the show for its entire run, from 1960 to 1972. Tramp (whose real name was Mac) was trained by animal pioneer Frank Inn and reportedly when he did pass, was cremated and buried with Frank Inn. I thought I'd throw that in because Tramp never seemed to get much credit!

SEASON 10 EPISODE 7 remastered/color.
