All exterior night scenes were shot during the day. Effects such as sky replacement were used to make it look like night.
The film is dedicated to Joanne Roberts, Jill Erwich's aunt, who passed away suddenly during production.
A running gag is that the character Robert Beaumont wants to be addressed as Robert, but the other characters stubbornly call him Mr. Beaumont, when in fact all the actors struggled to correctly pronounce "Beaumont" and preferred to call the character Robert.
The movie ends at sunrise, when in fact the scene was shot during sunset.
A competition arose among cast and crew members to see who could who could carve the best voodoo dolls. Estelle Stephenson won, and thus used her wax figures in the film.
