Not to be outdone by Netflix with its upcoming event series adaptations of Marvel comic book titles, Fox is seeking to expand its own comic book interests beyond the city limits of Gotham, and into the realms of Enormous. While filmmakers have been tinkering with the original graphic novel and comic book series for several years, it seems that producer Adrian Askarieh (Hitman) has finally got his foot on the gas pedal, and is headed for an event series with 20th Century Fox, New Regency Television and Prime Universe Films.
There are no spandex covered superheroes in this story, though. This is a dark, action-packed adventure tale with an honest-to-goodness female lead in the form of Ellen Grace – a former school teacher.
A full synopsis features on the official Enormous website and can be seen below:

Fox are producing an event series based on Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour’s horror comic Enormous…
It was only yesterday when we heard the news that Robert Kirkman’s Oucast comic was coming to the small screen via Cinemax. Now, we’ve got another horror comic telly adaptation to look forward to as well – Enormous.
Written by Tim Daniel and drawn by artist Mehdi Cheggour, Enormous first began life as a one-off graphic novella in 2012. This later became a live action short film, which is still available online here. As of June 2014, Enormous also returned as an ongoing comic series.
Adrian Askarieh, who produced the short film, will return as an executive producer for the TV version. It is based on the premise that “a vast ecological cataclysm which spawns colossal beasts unlike anything ever witnessed,” which of course causes some fairly large problems.

This sounds like something Godzilla fans should be excited about. Deadline report that a TV series based on Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour's Enormous is in the works at Fox Television, with Andrew Poltkin of New Regency TV and Prime Universe’s Adrian Askarieh on board as Executive Producers. Enormous started out as a one-off graphic novella in 2012 before getting a comic series last year, and has actually already been developed as a live-action web film (see below) from Trollhunter's Andre Ovredal and directer Ben David Grabinski. The story deals with humankind facing extinction after and ecological cataclysm "spawns colossal beasts unlike anything ever witnessed." The main character is Ellen Grace, who leads a search and rescue team through the monster-infested streets in an attempt to rescue some children. There she discovers that the real danger comes from, you guessed it, other humans.

Man is no longer at the top of the food chain.
New Regency Television and 20th Century Fox Television partnered with Prime Universe Films to create a series based on the action/horror comic book series “Enormous.”
The series is based on a post-cataclysm that spawned gigantic beasts that nearly destroyed mankind. It follows Ellen Grace, a former school teacher, trying to rescue any survivors in the city and soon to discover man is still the most dangerous enemy on the planet.
The comic book series published last July by 215 Ink. It is created by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour and originally debut as a one-shot graphic novella in 2012 and became a live-action short web film on Machinima later.

After making it big with live-action web series based on the Halo and Mortal Kombat video game franchises, Machinima has now turned to comic books for new programming.
The online entertainment player paired with director BenDavid Grabinski and producer Adrian Askarieh and has a cool 10-minute pilot based on Enormous, debuting today (March 20) on the Machinima website, which you can see below.
Enormous is set in a post-apocalyptic world after a cataclysmic ecological event unleashes giant monsters that destroy human civilization, putting mankind at the bottom of the food chain (and under their massive feet).
The busy filmmakers took a few minutes out of their busy schedules to chat with us about this “big little” pilot. Askarieh phoned from Berlin, where he is on set shooting the Hitman reboot, Agent 47. “We are in our fourth week, and we just wrapped for the day, so I’m ready to talk about Enormous!

The live-action pilot for an adaptation of Enormous, in which the world as we know it has ended, launches next Thursday (March 20th) on Machinima; and we have a look at its trailer and artwork right here.
The pilot/short film is based on the critically-acclaimed graphic novel of the same name that launched last year. Written by Tim Daniel and drawn by Mehdi Cheggour, Enormous tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world in which massive insect-like beasts have taken over the world and humans are now the bottom of the food chain.
The creative minds of director BenDavid Grabinski (short film Cost of Living), writer Andre Ovredal (Trollhunter), and producer Adrian Askarieh (Hitman, Agent 47) are taking Enormous from the page to the screen.
You'll find the goods below plus synopses of both the film and the graphic novel. Be sure to check back in a week for the full video.
