This edition was accused of stealing a joke in The Montrose Review (April 5th, 1956).
An unnamed columnist declared: "I was flattered to hear a joke from I this column quoted on T.V. last Sunday evening. It came in the Max Wall show and an unidentified comic suddenly appeared and told us 'confidentially' that he had been informed that if he told a good enough story he would be allowed to announce the next item on the programme. Imagine my surprise, or words to that effect, when he told the story I told two months ago of the youngster who left the money 'for the syrup at the bottom of the jar,' at the former Kydd's shop in Ferry Street, away back in the beginning of the century. How these stories get around. I am wondering if I can claim copyright fee !"
