I saw this powerful short film at the San Diego Indie Fest where it won "Best Overall Film." Helpless is an unforgettable, sobering and humbling cinematic experience. The narrative grabs your attention from the beginning and never lets go. As the story unfolds there is a pervading feeling that something really, really bad is about to happen.
This film is intense enough to rip you from your comfort zone. The finale packs an emotional punch you won't soon forget. When the film concluded the audience sat in stunned silence.
The director doesn't compromise in his bleak, stark vision and gets outstanding performances from his actors. In short, the film is acted brilliantly from top to bottom with never a false moment.
The photography is outstanding the the music score is appropriately haunting.
Helpless gives more pathos in 10 minutes than most feature films give in two hours.
