- John Fricke: [First lines] I don't think there's any question that Return To Oz has fans. But it's not a movie that the public even remembers exists for the most part. I've been asked countless times over the past decade or so "Why doesn't anyone ever make a big Wizard of Oz movie?" And I'll say: "Well, Disney tried in 1985." "Oh yeah..." "Oh... yeah." "Oh yeah." But there's no immediate recognition, there's no joy. The people who saw it just kind of put it out of their minds. Except for the people to whom it spoke and... I don't think there's any entertainment that doesn't speak to somebody.
- Crystal Gonzales: When I first saw the Wheelers it was kind of strange because... Oz has turned into a mad place at this point and there're these gang of riff-raffs. Well, to my eye, anyway. At least that's what I would think anyway if I saw guys on wheels coming up to me on the street. But I have to say when I first saw them when I was little, I don't know if it was the makeup or not, but I thought they were pretty cute. I guess I just had strange taste in guys but that was my first thought. "Ooh, they're cute. Those guys are really cute." Um, yeah, they were just... they were just punks and I don't know if I think they're cute now. I really think it was just the makeup that I liked.
- Sean Pollock: [about Return To Oz] I'm really glad Disney made it because it's probably the best thing to ever come out of Disney, whereas nowadays they're making movies about Cars and stuff.
