Did you know
- TriviaMrs. Langdon's attention is drawn when she hears the tinkling sound of a coin falling into the flower bed. However, this sound effect is inconsistent with a coin hitting the soft dirt of the flowerbed used in the episode.
- GoofsNear the end, whilst kneeling, Father Brown recites the Hail Mary in Latin. After saying Ave Maria at the start of the prayer he should say 'gratia' plena, but replaces gratia with what sounds like 'in sancta'. Then, after saying Dominus tecum, he gets the start of the next two lines wrong (transposing benedicta and benedictus). Father Brown should know the Hail Mary in Latin like the back of his hand.
- Quotes
Richard Belcroft: You see, Father, I don't have to murder people to solve my problems; I have money for that.
Featured review
A fine episode.
Kembleford is once again in the midst of a crime wave, as a killer wipes out locals, the deaths follow an almost biblical pattern.
Very good once again, the first thing I noticed, was this perhaps filmed in UHD? It looked incredibly sharp, very nicely filmed as always.
A really good story, slightly more bloodthirsty than usual, I liked the concept, and loved the characters. It is glorious how time stands still in Kembleford, that cosy enchantment is part of the show's appeal, but even here there's a little progress, with some American culture arriving. Who will forget Mrs M tucking into a hot dog.
It would be nice if there were a few more semi regulars, a few more familiar faces would be great.
I really liked the acting here, some very sincere performances including Ossian Luke and Leon Ockenden, both were particularly good.
8/10.
