Season Six of Billions is Worth, Well, Millions
ajkbiotech7 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When Billions began 6 years ago, it was one of the best shows on TV.

Unfortunately, Season Six of Billions, while it tries as hard as it can, falls far short of the mark of the prior five seasons.

1) it's painfully missing Damian Lewis, "Axe", the key figure in the show. Minus 3 points.

2) Maggie Siff has nearly zero screen time. Minus 2 points.

There seems to be some kind of plot about Prince getting NYC the Olympics, but in fact I'm familiar with the actual bid of NYC for the 2016 Olympics, and it was nowhere near as nefarious as portrayed in this episode arc.

Finally, Paul Giametti as Chuck Rhoades, who has been steadily great in this show, seems to just be going through the motions in Season Six. There just isn't the same panache or zing he had in the beginning or other seasons.

All in all, not nearly as fun as Season One.

Not Billions anymore
Tactrix8 February 2022
I was excited to see how they would steer this show in a different direction, my hope was that the ruthless tactics would turn to clever tactics. That didn't happen. What happened instead was they turned a interesting show into a gibberish machine. Spouting references to things no one knows or even remotely understands from places no one cares about. None of this is interesting, intriguing or even remotely viable. This will more than likely be the last season for this show, as without Axe to no ones surprise it will now tank.

Why sure, change everything that was good about the show...

For five seasons you developed a fan base with a certain style show. The hedge fund manager hell bent on accumulating power and money vs the knight in shining armor (who's quite imperfect himself). Throw in disjointed families, love triangles, interesting support characters (Wags, Dollar Bill, and Taylor especially) and you've created a fantasy world you can sympathize with. You can root for the bad guy(s) on both sides.

But now you've turned the show into a politically correct, "eat the rich", boring group of frazzled story lines where the best characters could be replaced by robots (yes, I'm talking about Wags and Taylor especially). I should have left when Axe did...

The Olympic Rings
douglasmcbroom7 February 2022
This is the best episode of an otherwise abysmal season. Of course, this series desperately misses Axe. But now we've got everyone with a hidden agenda and so some intrigue is building.

Corey Stoll, who was abominable as young Junior Soprano in 'The Many Saints Of Newark', has managed to do the impossible, which is to supplant Asia Kate Dillion as the biggest woke doooche on the show. Wendy has been pretty much sidelined.

But Chuck is gearing up and channeling his inner 'Fame.' His father is involved. Mafee and Dollar Bill have resurfaced. And we never know what Wags is really up to, but I sure as Hell don't want him teaming up with the despicable Scooter.

So, it's enough to keep me engaged...for now.

Great while it lasted.....

Satisfied I gave it three post-Bobby episodes but they're getting steadily less interesting. The hipster banter is even annoying. And folks probably notice all the ethical violations from Mr Squeaky Clean Prince & his compadres.

Hmmm...seems to be improving.

First two episodes of this series were pretty average. This was a big step up in quality. Some interesting/fun dynamics forming. Maybe series 6 will be a success after all....

Steaming pile

What happened to this great show? I knew it would change once Axe left but didn't expect it to get this bad. The irony of a trust fund millionaire railing against other rich people is beyond laughable. Hey, at least we got a huge painting of the despicable Stacy Abrams to look at while trying to eat dinner.

TOO WOKE - DNC WALL ART?
FrankHonest8 May 2022
Stacey Abrams' wall art - are you kidding me!?

We expect the standard bias from Hollywood and this show has had it. It was tolerable.

But this I just absurd now.

This show is now just Democrat propaganda. "Billionaires shouldn't exist", AOC advertising, Abrams advertising, activist investing; all this on top of the already present woke pronouns stuff. Come on... How much is the DNC paying y'all?

I'd put zero stars if I could
anthonyneil-120218 March 2022
You can tell that a jealous dem socialist like Sorkin is involved in this fiasco. Here's my question. Since he's so anti capitalist and anti billionaire to produce this fiasco does he voluntarily pay 90 percent taxes? Such a putz.

This has basically become an "everyone that is successful, especially billionaires, is a scum bag and fraud on every day people. ". Idiotic. They've ruined the show. Put this show out if it's misery and end it now.

What happened?
Clairepcb1 March 2022
Just about every character looks and is acting like zombies. Did the make up artists go on strike? Did the actors decide to take sleeping pills before the said "action?" Writing is awful. Script while still quippy is not being delivered well at all. Zero energy. I miss the smart edgy Billions I used to love.
